After a 9-year battle, Dolph Lundgren, the star of 'Rocky', is now cancer-free.
In 2015, the Swedish-born celebrity was given a prognosis of only two years to live.
Dolph Lundgren, who played Rocky IV, is marking the holiday season with a focus on wellness.
Earlier this week, the Swedish-born actor shared an update from his hospital bed before surgery, expressing his joy as he is now "cancer free."
In the video, Lundgren stated, "I am at UCLA, ready to remove the final tumor. As there are no cancer cells in my body anymore, I am cancer-free and eager for this procedure."
He shared that he was undergoing a lung ablation, a minimally invasive procedure that utilizes heating or cooling mechanisms to eliminate tumor tissue, according to the Mayo Clinic.
Lundgren remarked, "This journey has been challenging, but it has taught me to cherish each moment and embrace life fully. In my opinion, living in the present is the only way to truly experience life." After signing off, he headed into surgery.
The actor posted a brief update on his Instagram story on Wednesday, expressing gratitude for the messages and comments he received.
"He winked and said, "It's gonna take a little more to break me," referencing his line in "Rocky IV" where he tells Sylvester Stallone, "I must break you.""
In 2015, Lundgren was diagnosed with cancer and underwent surgery to remove a tumor from his kidney. Despite the surgery, he remained cancer-free for five years.

In 2020, during an interview on "In Depth With Graham Bensinger," he disclosed that doctors discovered more tumors around the area, resulting in the removal of six additional tumors. However, one tumor had grown to the size of a lemon in his liver, and doctors were unable to remove it.
"In January of this year, Planet Chronicle Digital reported that "It wasn't looking good." The doctor in London advised the speaker to stop working and spend more time with their family. After realizing the seriousness of the situation, the speaker took action."
Dolph Lundgren, the star of the 'Wanted Man' series, reveals how getting a second opinion saved his life during his cancer battle.
"Universal Soldier" star discovered that his doctors had been administering incorrect treatments because they hadn't thoroughly examined all the biopsies.
Lundgren recalled getting a second opinion from a UCLA doctor who reviewed all the biopsies and discovered a different mutation than what was previously stated.
"They didn't verify it. They simply assumed. As soon as I received the new medication, I began to improve. And that was it."
"Last year, I removed all those tumors. They freeze them out or use radiation. Now, I'm living a normal life, except I gotta go and do a scan every three months. Everything else is kind of back to normal. It was scary and magical at the same time."
