Adam Levine returns to 'The Voice' after gaining 'Ozempic of exposure': expert.
In spring 2025, Kelsea Ballerini and John Legend will join Maroon 5 singer as returning coaches.
In 2025, Adam Levine will make a comeback to "The Voice" for season 27.
Adam Levine is returning to the rotating coach's chair, along with Kelsea Ballerini, Michael Bublé, and John Legend.
In an Instagram video, Levine excitedly discussed the news with his followers.
"I am returning for Season 27 and I am thrilled. I am eagerly anticipating it. I am well-rested and ready to go. Although a bit nervous, I am not worried, I am just so excited!" he exclaimed.
"I can't wait for Season 27 to be great, and it's going to be awesome! Team Adam is back, and I feel bad for other teams. Let's go! I'm excited to be back and can't wait to see what happens. Voice fam, here we come, let's go!"
Big stars appear on competition shows like "The Voice" and "American Idol" for a "simple" reason, according to Doug Eldridge of Achilles PR.
""The 'Ozempic of exposure' allows you to achieve the benefits of constant touring and appearances without the traditional hard work required to sustain your popularity and musical career," he said to Planet Chronicle Digital."
In 2019, after appearing on the show for 16 seasons, one of the original coaches, Levine, decided to leave.
In an interview on "The Howard Stern Show," Levine stated that his decision to leave was a natural occurrence that felt right. Despite the outcome, he felt good about the moment they decided to walk away, indicating that it was the right time for him to go.
For eight-and-a-half years, I was busy with the band and The Voice. I was fortunate to go through it all because it was a life-altering experience. After getting married and having two kids, I wanted to spend time with them.
Many big names, including Levine, are considering joining a music competition show.
Gwen Stefani, Reba McEntire, Michael Bublé, and Snoop Dogg are set to return to "The Voice" for season 26, which will air this fall.
In season 17, Stefani became a contestant on the show and later married one of the original coaches, Blake Shelton.
"The music industry is challenging, particularly for stars attempting to recover financially from the COVID-19 pandemic, while simultaneously adapting to the shift from traditional album sales to the streaming download model. According to Eldridge, if you are a well-known artist seeking a break from the rigors of touring, creating new music, and promoting yourself, then a low-maintenance platform like "America's Got Talent" or "American Idol" could be an ideal solution."
For seven seasons, Katy Perry served as a judge on "American Idol" until she recently announced her exit.
On "Jimmy Kimmel Live" in February, Perry hinted at plans for a new album while expressing his love for "Idol" and feeling the need to explore his own musical path.
Sunny Bonnell, co-founder of Motto® and co-author of "Rare Breed, A Guide to Success for the Defiant, Dangerous, and Different," stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that appearing on these shows is crucial for achieving both visibility and resonance.
"Like 'The Voice' and 'American Idol,' these shows provide stars with the chance to not only showcase their talents but also connect with larger audiences. They transition from being contestants to mentors, establishing their personal brand within the younger generation," she added.
Several big names like Jennifer Lopez and Taylor Swift were suggested as replacements for Perry as she prepared to exit, but Perry had her sights set on a country music sensation who had been making waves in the past year: Jelly Roll.
In April, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie were joined by Perry, who expressed her excitement about the possibility of filling the seat.
Having any of these guys plus Jelly on the show would be amazing, she said, "I love you, Jelly!"
Jelly Roll declared his love for Katy Perry when he later learned about the news.
He continued praising Perry, stating that she is the same person privately as she is publicly. Every time he has seen her, she has been like, 'You need to be on 'American Idol.' The first time someone asked her this was by y'all, and she responded, 'Jelly Roll.'
He agreed to clean the "American Idol" toilets if requested, stating, "I'm in."
Jelly Roll could benefit from appearing on "Idol" as it could lead to more awards, brand deals, and attention.
Bonnell stated that these artists are currently networking live, forming alliances that go beyond the stage, including future collaborations, ventures, and expanding their artistic horizons. This is real-time career cultivation.
Eldridge concurred, stating, "The strategy of co-hosting musical talent shows is to attract a specific audience based on their demographics and psychographics. However, the actual tactics involve the implementation of this strategy, which includes the viewer demographics and psychographics. It is not a coincidence that popular artists like Metallica are not participating in these shows, as they fall within the same overlapping Venn diagram of consumer tastes. Country music stars and Top 40 artists, such as Megan Trainor, are also part of this central consumer taste diagram."
Perry's seat on "Idol" may be taken over by Meghan Trainor.
Recently, she revealed to "Entertainment Tonight" that her ultimate desire in life is to serve as a judge on "American Idol."
Please consider me on your show, 'American Idol!' I'm ready and would love to make my ultimate bucket list dream come true.
Trainor appeared on the show as a mentor for contestants last season.
Luke Bryan stated that he would welcome Meghan on his show, saying, "Meghan has always been fun, and that's her brand. She's witty, so certainly."
Meghan is a super talent with a great sense of humor, and she's fun and spontaneous. Host Ryan Seacrest agreed.
Artists can reveal a more personal side of themselves during competition shows, while also earning financially.
The artist-host can boost their album sales without having to step foot in the studio or get anywhere near a tour bus by winning the audience through likability. These shows tend to highlight the personalities of the individual hosts more than their musical talent. It's a brilliant move if the artist-host can stick the landing.
Bonnell agreed that it’s beneficial for personal branding.
"Seasoned stars use shows as a platform to share their wisdom and experience with up-and-coming talents, while every mentorship moment highlights their brand as a genuine leader and influencer. This masterful play builds a connection between guiding new talent and their core audience," she said.
