Concern and confusion have been sparked by mysterious drone sightings, with officials remaining clueless.
According to a military spokesperson, U.S. Northern Command has not been asked to intervene by the Pentagon amid reports of mysterious drones sightings in New Jersey.
U.S. military installations have been sighted near some of the dozens of drones that have caused concern and confusion due to their mysterious origins.
The U.S. Northern Command spokesperson informed Planet Chronicle Digital that they are aware and monitoring reports of unauthorized drone flights near military installations in New Jersey, including Picatinny Arsenal and Naval Weapons Station Earle, and referred them to those installations for information on any safety and security measures being taken.
The FBI and local law enforcement are currently investigating the sightings, as stated by the spokesperson.
The spokesperson stated that U.S. Northern Command conducted a thorough analysis of the events, in collaboration with other military organizations and interagency partners, and at present, no assistance has been requested from them.
On Tuesday, Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House press secretary, stated that the drones flying over New Jersey were not foreign. President Biden has been informed about the situation, and the DHS and FBI are currently investigating.
Reports of drone activity were first received by the Federal Aviation Administration on November 18 in Morris County, just over 2 miles from Trump National Golf Club in Somerset County.
Sightings have been reported in various locations across New Jersey, including Mendham, Parsippany, and other areas north of Bedminster.
On Monday, New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy stated that there were 49 reports of drones on Sunday, primarily in Hunterdon County. The Democratic governor added that his figures encompassed possible sightings and the possibility of the same drone being reported multiple times.
Both Democratic and Republican federal lawmakers have expressed concern over the drone sightings and urged national security agencies to release more information promptly.
