Florida burglary victim arrested after police discover drugs during 911 call: "He should have concealed his drugs"
Sheriff Grady Judd stated that Everett Brown, 59, was arrested following a 911 call for assistance, despite leaving cocaine in plain view at his residence.
Last week, a Florida man was arrested following a burglary and attack in his home. The reason for this, as stated by Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd on Thursday, was that the man had left his drugs out in the open.
Every day, Judd shares a brief video on Facebook about a 59-year-old man who ended up in jail after calling 911 for help.
According to Judd, a group of juveniles were harassing Brown, who resides in the Frostproof region.
On that day, it is claimed that Phillip Sutton IV, who was 14 years old, kicked Brown's door in and struck him with a red broom handle, causing Brown to call 911.
As Polk County deputies were examining and cataloguing the crime scene in Brown's house, they discovered cocaine in plain sight.
At the scene, Sutton, who allegedly confessed to the crime, was arrested. Judd stated that both burglary and battery charges are felonies.
Brown was also arrested and charged with possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
On Nov. 5, he was incarcerated and then freed on Nov. 9 after paying a $5,000 bond.
Judd wrote in the caption of the video that Mr. Everett didn't deserve to be battered by a hooligan, but he should have concealed his cocaine before calling 911.
