Hamas squad commander and sniper involved in Oct. 7 massacre killed in Israeli strike, IDF confirms.
In northern Gaza, a Hamas Nukhba Forces squad commander and sniper, Ahmed Hassan Salame Alsauarka, was fatally wounded in a "precise and targeted" attack.
On Thursday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that a Hamas squad commander and sniper who participated in the Oct. 7 massacre in southern Israel was killed in a strike in northern Gaza.
The Israeli Air Force carried out a "precise and targeted" strike in the Beit Hanoun area, resulting in the death of Ahmed Hassan Salame Alsauarka, according to the IDF.
During the Oct. 7 massacre, Hamas' Nukhba Forces, led by Alsauarka, carried out attacks in southern Israel.
The IDF claims that he led and directed sniper activity in the area where he was killed and took part in Hamas' attacks on IDF troops.
The strike on Alsauarka was carried out based on information obtained by the IDF and the Israeli Securities Agency.
The IDF identified Alsauarka and killed it after taking measures to prevent harm to civilians, with no injuries reported.
The military reports that Israeli troops are still active in the central Gaza Strip. Yesterday, a mortar shell launch post was hit by IDF aerial and artillery forces, and two terrorists were targeted with an Iron Sting precision missile.
The IDF is continuing to carry out "precise, intelligence-based, operational activity" in the Rafah area.
In the past 24 hours, several terrorists have been killed in "close-quarters encounters" and targeted raids have uncovered rocket launchers and other weapons, the IDF stated about the activity in Rafah.
