New poster and photos of the suspect in the murder of the UnitedHealthcare CEO released by the FBI.
The suspect has a slender physique and notable eyebrows, as depicted in photos from the FBI and NYPD.
On Sunday, the FBI released a new wanted poster for the individual suspected of killing UnitedHealthCare CEO Brian Thompson.
The FBI is still offering a reward of up to $50,000 for any information that leads to the arrest of the suspect, as depicted in the poster's images of the suspect inside a taxi cab and strolling on a sidewalk.
The FBI's New York Field Office is collaborating with the New York City Police Department in requesting the public's help in identifying the suspect responsible for the shooting death of a 50-year-old male victim outside of 1335 Avenue of the Americas in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, New York, at approximately 6:40 a.m., on December 4, 2024.
Please contact the FBI's Toll-Free tipline at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) or the New York City Police Department's Toll-Free tipline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) if you have any information regarding this case. Additionally, you can contact your local FBI office or submit a tip online at tips.fbi.gov.
The Port Authority bus station is where the suspect was seen entering after the attack, leading investigators to believe he is no longer in New York City. Both the NYPD and the FBI are investigating the murder.
This weekend, police found a backpack belonging to the suspect in Central Park. It contained Monopoly money and a jacket. On Sunday, NYPD divers searched a nearby lake in Central Park.
The backpack will be sent to a lab in Queens for forensic examination, where it will undergo trace evidence processing, as stated by retired FBI agent Scott Duffey.
"Duffey explained on Saturday that the process of hair, fibers, and DNA is involved in this process. When someone holds their hand against the strap and tightens the buckle like most people do, that is likely where DNA can be found. Additionally, zippers are also involved in this process."
The manhunt has now extended to several states and is on its fifth day, with the suspect's last known location being a New York City bus station that serves routes leading to New Jersey, Boston, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C.
The Monopoly money in the backpack is the "fatal piece in a game of deception with law enforcement."
He said, "This killer knew they would likely find the backpack, and they are leaving breadcrumbs to let authorities know they are in control, not them."
