Bills secure AFC East title with win over 49ers in snowy conditions
The game between the Bills and 49ers was hindered by snow.
Josh Allen made every play a quarterback could make and more.
Despite his recent engagement to pop star Hailee Steinfeld, Allen faced the driving lake-effect snow that hit the Buffalo area during the holiday weekend and into Sunday night while playing against the San Francisco 49ers.
The Bills defeated the 49ers, 35-10, with Allen leading the charge, and they also secured the AFC East division for the fifth consecutive season.
Before halftime, the quarterback scored a touchdown with a 7-yard pass to Hollins, bringing Buffalo's lead to 21-3. However, the team was far from finished.
In the third quarter, Allen scored a receiving touchdown after Amari Cooper lateraled the pass from Allen back to the quarter, who then ran in for a score. Despite having no official catches, Allen had seven receiving yards and a receiving touchdown.
In the fourth quarter, Allen scored an 8-yard touchdown, leaving Mitchell Trubisky to take over.
Since the merger, no NFL quarterback has achieved a touchdown through throwing, running, and catching in a single game, as stated by the team.
He had 148 passing yards on 13 completions and 18 rushing yards.
James Cook and Ray Davis, the bills running backs, scored touchdowns with a 65-yard run and a 5-yard scamper, respectively. Cook had 107 rushing yards, while Davis had 59.
The Bills' offense left the 49ers without an answer the whole night, as players struggled to get a sense of the snowy conditions and kept slipping and sliding on the surface.
Christian McCaffrey, San Francisco's best chance, suffered a knee injury in the first half and did not return.
Brock Purdy had a passing yardage of 94 and was 11-of-18 with two sacks. San Francisco's only touchdown was scored by Isaac Guerendo.
Currently, Buffalo has a seven-game winning streak and 10 victories this season.
It seemed like San Francisco's season was slipping away after they lost 5-7.
