Travis Kelce of the Chiefs expresses his frustration over the team's lack of scoring this season.
This season, Kelce has notched just 2 touchdowns.
Despite scoring two touchdowns this season, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is frustrated with his low production in the red zone.
""When we enter the red zone, I feel more motivated. However, this year, I struggle to get there. I'm not aligned with Mahomes, which can be frustrating," Kelce stated in a recent "New Heights" episode."
Travis Kelce clarified that the specific play Jason Kelce mentioned during the Chiefs' victory over the Raiders was not the only play he was referring to.
Travis stated that the play was not just one, but it was particularly unfortunate. The play in question had a zero cover, and if he didn't have it now and the ball was still in Pat's hand, he needed to do something else to get open for him. He went one way, and Pat threw it the other.
In the win, Kelce made seven catches for 68 yards, but he didn't reach the end zone.
In the previous season, the Chiefs tight end scored 12 touchdowns, but his total decreased to five in the following season.
During the Chiefs' run to their second consecutive Super Bowl win, Kelce scored three touchdowns in four games.
This season, Kelce has 75 catches for 627 yards and two touchdowns in 12 games, assuming a larger role in the offense following Rashee Rice's injury.
Although the Chiefs secured a playoff spot with their victory over the Raiders on Friday, Kelce has expressed dissatisfaction with his performance.
"I've played poorly, but it feels great to make the playoffs for the tenth year in a row," Kelce said.
The AFC West leaders, the Chiefs, are currently holding the No. 1 seed in the AFC and aim to secure a first-round bye in the playoffs.
On Sunday, the Los Angeles Chargers will face off against the Denver Broncos in a crucial game for determining the winner of the AFC West.
