Trump trial judge accused of accepting payment from Harris campaign for Stefanik's daughter's company.
Judge Juan Merchan's daughter leads a company that the Harris campaign is doing business with, according to Stefanik.
New York Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan is being accused of illegal conflict of interest by Rep. Elise Stefanik in a complaint filed against him. The allegation is that Merchan has a newly active financial relationship with a company led in part by his daughter, which is linked to the sham Manhattan trial against President Trump.
On the same day that Merchan postponed Trump's sentencing in New York v. Trump, a filing was made with the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct.
An unprecedented criminal trial found Trump guilty on all 34 counts of falsifying business records in the first degree, following a six-week trial resulting from Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's investigation.
R-N.Y. Stefanik is requesting the Commission to initiate a new investigation into Justice Merchan's conflict and to take any necessary actions based on the findings.
On August 20, 2024, Vice President Harris's campaign submitted its first Federal Election Commission (FEC) report that documented expenses and donations through July 31, 2024. In the report, a July 30, 2024, disbursement appears in the amount of $468.00 from Vice President Harris's campaign to Authentic Campaigns Inc. (Authentic) for web hosting services. This indicates that one of the very first things that Harris did upon taking over the Biden campaign infrastructure is to hire this firm, Authentic.

Authentic is a digital consulting and marketing firm that serves Democrat candidates. Loren Merchan, Justice Merchan's daughter, is its president. Vice President Harris switched web hosting companies from AWS to Authentic after being named the presumptive Democrat presidential nominee.
"This new contract with a new campaign, regardless of the amount reimbursed, is just the beginning for Authentic and Merchan, with the potential for a larger benefit in the future, as Stefanik stated in her complaint," said Stefanik.
Stefanik stated that the code of conduct mandates that a judge must withdraw from a case if a relative up to the sixth degree has a financial stake in the outcome of the case.
Justice Merchan is related to Ms. Merchan in the first degree. Authentic has recently established a financial relationship with Vice President Harris's campaign, as Stefanik stated.
Neither the Harris campaign nor the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct provided a comment on Saturday in response to a request from Planet Chronicle Digital.
