Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson of North Carolina denied involvement in a pornography scandal that emerged on Thursday, pledging to continue his campaign for governor.

A report published by CNN on Thursday afternoon claimed that Robinson had previously used a pornography site called "Nude Africa," where he allegedly communicated with other users about spying on women in locker rooms as a teenager, identified himself as a "black NAZI," and expressed a preference for transgender pornography.

Before the report was released, Robinson posted a video on his X account, stating that he would remain in the race and referring to the report as "tabloid trash."

In the X video, Mark Robinson assured the audience that the things they would see in the story were not his words. He emphasized that they knew his words, character, and transparency in the race. He stated that the opponents were desperate to shift the focus from the substantive issues to salacious traps and tabloid trash.

According to CNN's report, Robinson used a false name on the porn site "minisoldr" to discuss his preference for transgender pornography and to describe his alleged behavior of peeping on women in a locker room when he was 14 years old.

According to Robinson's account on Nude Africa, he stumbled upon a dead-end spot with two large vent covers. As he looked closer, he realized it overlooked the showers. He sat there for an hour and observed several girls showering.

In a 2010 post on CNN, it was reported that Robinson was accused of saying, "I’m a Black Nazi!" while discussing Black Republicans.

According to CNN, the alleged use of chat forums took place between 2008 and 2012, before Robinson entered the political arena in 2019.

North Carolina Attorney General Josh Stein was accused of leaking allegations against Robinson to the media, which Robinson blamed on him.

"Mark Robinson is unfit to be Governor, and Josh is focused on winning the campaign to build a safer, stronger North Carolina for all," Stein's campaign told Planet Chronicle Digital.

In comments to CNN, Robinson again denied the report.

"These are not our words, and this is not anything that represents us," Robinson stated. "I won't go into the details of how these false tabloid stories were created."

Early Thursday, reports emerged that Robinson was under pressure from Republican allies to withdraw from the race following the release of a damaging news article about his alleged use of adult websites in the 2000s.

Robinson's campaign communications director stated that the reports were false before the CNN report was published.

Earlier Thursday, comms director Michael Lonergan of the Carolina Journal stated that the sources used here are complete fiction.

On Thursday, Robinson was contacted by Planet Chronicle Digital, but no response was immediately provided.

The DGA released a statement following CNN's report, stating that Mark Robinson is unhinged, dangerous, and unfit to be governor.

Izzi Levy, the DGA deputy communications director, stated that the stakes have never been higher as many Republicans caution against the harm that Robinson could cause as governor, and we must continue to accelerate our efforts to defeat him in November.

North Carolina Republican Rep. Richard Hudson stated that the allegations against Robinson are troubling, but he is not urging him to withdraw from the race. Instead, he believes Robinson should be given the chance to address the public and clarify the situation.

Hudson stated that he hoped the governor could allay the people of North Carolina's fears by proving the allegations false.

The Assembly, a North Carolina outlet, released a detailed report on Sept. 3 stating that Robinson frequently visited porn shops and viewed materials in private booths, as claimed by former employees and customers. The report revealed that Robinson's visits to adult stores occurred in the 1990s and 2000s, prior to his entry into politics.

Lonergan rejected the conclusions in The Assembly's report, claiming it was entirely fabricated.

Lonergan denied the false and personal attack on his boss, stating it was complete fiction, to the outlet.

In 2021, Robinson became the first African American to hold the office of North Carolina lieutenant governor. Last April, he declared his intention to run for governor.

In 2018, Robinson gained notoriety when he passionately spoke about gun laws during a city council meeting in Greensboro. His speech was sparked by local leaders considering cancelling a gun show in the wake of the Parkland school shooting in Florida.

"Robinson stated at the meeting, which was viewed 200 million times, that he is a law-abiding citizen who has never shot anyone. He emphasized that whenever there is a shooting, people tend to shift the blame away from the shooter and onto him, restricting his rights."

He was a furniture factory employee in North Carolina, an Army veteran, and later climbed the GOP's political ladder, earning endorsements from former President Trump and the NRA.
