Trump predicts a 'fair but tough' campaign interview for Harris, stating it will reveal her true character.
After six weeks of being President Biden's successor, Vice President Kamala Harris is giving her first interview.
In advance of Vice President Kamala Harris' first interview since replacing President Biden, former President Trump is weighing in on the 2024 election.
On Thursday morning, Trump posted on social media that he wants CNN to interview Harris in a "fair but tough" manner. If this happens, he believes it will reveal her incompetence and unsuitability for the presidency.
Since becoming her party's presidential nominee six weeks ago, Harris has been experiencing a surge of energy, enthusiasm, and momentum in both polling and fundraising.
She has avoided holding a news conference or giving a major interview - until now.
Trump, Vance, and their campaign, along with allied Republicans, have been subjected to continuous incoming fire from Trump.
"She can't answer questions," Trump said earlier this week during a stop in northern Virginia. "Why doesn't she do something like I'm doing right now?"
The vice president "can't talk," and we can't have another dummy as a president, he claimed.
On the campaign trail, Vance has consistently asserted that the vice president is conducting a hidden campaign by avoiding the media and refusing to respond to their inquiries.
The Harris campaign has accused the GOP ticket of evading questions.
The Harris campaign sent an email to reporters Monday with the title "Trump Is Stumped and Vance Dances: GOP Ticket Dodges and Lies Through Every Question."
On Thursday afternoon, CNN's Dana Bash will interview Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, before the vice president headlines a rally in Savannah, a crucial battleground state. The interview will be televised in prime time hours later.
Corey Lewandowski, Trump campaign senior adviser, stated that the Vice President of the United States has enough stamina after 40 days to finally sit down for a joint interview to discuss her vision for America.
According to Lewandowski, it is not a coincidence that Kamala and Tim's first interview is taking place on the Thursday before a long weekend, as their intention is to bury the negative news about their policies' impact on the country, even though the interview has not yet occurred.
Trump and his allies have been urging CNN to ask Harris about her changes in positions on key issues such as border security, immigration, and crime before the interview.
