Trump claims he may have been shot because of Democratic rhetoric.
Trump stated that Democrats pose a danger to democracy.
During the debate between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump claimed that he was assassinated due to the rhetoric from Harris and Democrats.
Trump stated during the debate in Philadelphia on Tuesday evening that he believes he may have been shot in the head due to the negative comments made about him. He mentioned that people discuss democracy, but he is seen as a threat to it, while they are the true threat to democracy.
In July, during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, Trump was shot in the ear by Matthew Crooks, who also injured two audience members and fatally shot Corey Comperatore.
"Trump stated that Harris was the one who weaponized, not him."
Trump's assertion that he was shot because of Democratic discourse was followed by Harris stating that Trump would use the Department of Justice to arm himself against his political adversaries.
"Let's discuss the extreme context surrounding the 2024 election and the recent Supreme Court ruling that grants the former president immunity from any misconduct if he were to return to the White House," she stated.
Harris stated that if Donald Trump were back in the White House with no restraints, he would likely terminate the Constitution of the United States, weaponize the Department of Justice against his political enemies, and openly express disdain for members of our military.
After being seen wearing a bandage over his ear during the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Trump has since recovered from the assassination attempt.
Trump and Harris faced off in a debate at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, marking their first encounter on stage. This debate occurred after President Biden withdrew from the race due to concerns about his mental abilities.
Trump intends to hold another rally in Butler County, Pennsylvania, in October.
