'Trump campaign responds after Harris accuses him of contributing to 'violent crime wave'.'
The campaign will continue to emphasize Trump's stance on immigration and Kamala's failure to address the border issue.
The Trump campaign accused Vice President Kamala Harris of being a "liar" and "desperate" after her campaign released a TV ad stating that former President Trump's policies led to a "violent crime wave." Harris was labeled as an "open border, weak-on-crime liberal" by the Trump campaign.
The Harris campaign released a TV ad the day after the vice president accepted the Democratic presidential nomination in Chicago, highlighting her record of reducing violent crime.
Her record as district attorney and attorney general — protecting children, combating online predators and violent offenders, and dismantling international drug cartels," the ad claims. "Under Donald Trump? A surge in violent crime. And Trump's MAGA supporters were ordered to assassinate the bipartisan border security agreement.
"Trump just talks tough. Kamala Harris is tough."
Trump campaign national press secretary Karoline Leavitt called Harris "a liar."
According to Leavitt, Kamala and Biden immediately reversed all of President Trump's effective immigration policies and opened the border to criminals, terrorists, and drug cartels upon taking office. If Border Czar Harris truly wanted to secure the border, why doesn't she return to Washington and do it today?
"She won't because she's a liberal with weak-on-crime views and an open border stance."
The Trump campaign posted on X, previously Twitter, that violent crime has increased by almost 25% across 66 major U.S. cities since Kamala became president, despite her administration presiding over only three of the four most murderous years in the last 25 years.
""As district attorney, Harris was known for being soft on crime, while San Francisco had the highest murder rate in a decade. Under Kamala, illegals she let into the country are brutally raping and murdering our citizens," the campaign continued."
Soros-backed prosecutors across the country have adopted Harris as their model.
"The Sinaloa Cartel has made record profit under Kamala, despite the campaign's claim that drug cartels have been 'shut down' and deadly drugs continue to flow across the border in unprecedented numbers."
The Trump campaign stated that the bipartisan border bill would have expedited the path to citizenship for millions of undocumented individuals.
Trump visited the border in Arizona Thursday.
The Trump campaign has pointed to instances of Americans, such as Jocelyn Nungaray, Laken Riley, and Rachel Morin, who were reportedly murdered by undocumented immigrants.
Two Venezuelan men, aged 21 and 26, have been charged with capital murder for the death of a 12-year-old boy in June. They entered the US illegally earlier this year and are accused of strangling the pre-teen.
A 26-year-old Venezuelan illegal immigrant, Jose Ibarra, was charged with the murder of 22-year-old Riley. Ibarra entered the U.S. through El Paso, Texas, in 2022 and was released on border parole. Prior to his move to Athens, Georgia, he was arrested in New York City for allegedly endangering a child.
Riley's murder has led to charges against Ibarra for malice murder, felony murder, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, kidnapping, hindering a 911 call, and concealing the death of another.
Victor Antonio Martinez-Hernandez, a 23-year-old El Salvadoran national, is accused of causing Morin's death. He was in the country illegally and was caught by Border Patrol three times in January and February 2023. Each time, he was sent back to Mexico under Title 42.
In February 2023, he successfully entered the U.S. near El Paso, Texas without being inspected, admitted, or paroled by a U.S. immigration officer.
On Thursday, while in Arizona, Trump invited the Angel Moms to share their stories about the victims of crimes committed by illegal migrants.
"We have been on numerous trips to the border and shared many stories about victims, including the inspiring tales of the Angel Moms. However, nothing has ever been as intense and harmful as what we are currently experiencing in our nation," Trump stated.
"It is an onslaught of violence."
The Trump campaign will focus on emphasizing immigration and Kamala Harris's failure to secure the border, according to a campaign official who spoke to Planet Chronicle Digital.
