Top Republican vows to block Iran peace deal efforts under a President Harris if House GOP maintains majority.
Rep. Elise Stefanik stated that she is uncertain if the US can prevent another catastrophe like 9/11.
According to Rep. Elise Stefanik of New York, the House's No. 3 Republican, Republicans would do everything in their power to prevent a Harris administration from reaching a new Iran deal.
The GOP Conference chairwoman pledged to block that at every opportunity, as stated in an exclusive interview with Planet Chronicle Digital.
"Hamas and Hezbollah are being supported by the hundreds of billions of dollars given to Iran by Biden and Kamala Harris, who is the greatest sponsor of terror."
Last fall, two separate agreements enabled Iran to obtain access to up to $16 billion of its previously frozen assets through a prisoner swap.
It is predicted that Vice President Kamala Harris would prefer to negotiate with Iran to prevent them from developing a nuclear weapon rather than relying on military deterrence and financial sanctions.
In 2019, Harris expressed her support for rejoining the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) that aimed to restrict Iran's nuclear programs.
She stated that President Trump's decision to withdraw from an agreement that prevented Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon, despite warnings from our closest allies and without a plan for the future, was irresponsible.
She stated that she would attempt to reenter the agreement provided that Iran adhered to verifiable compliance.
Some worry that Iran's nearly weapons-grade uranium stockpile may lead to the creation of a nuclear weapon before the year's end.
Trump advised that sanctions should be employed "minimally" to maintain the U.S. dollar's status as the global currency.
"I apply sanctions with great force against countries that warrant it, but then I remove them because the loss of Iran and Russia is imminent. Meanwhile, China is working to establish its currency as the dominant one."
If the GOP maintains control of the House in the next Congress, it will continue to work towards defunding the U.N. Palestinian refugee agency (UNRWA) and stop foreign dollars from going into universities, according to Stefanik, a member of the Intelligence and Armed Services committees.
In March, President Biden signed a funding ban on UNRWA for one year following the discovery of some of its employees' links to Hamas, as part of an appropriations package.
The chairwoman did not reveal whether the House would approve additional funding for Ukraine or Taiwan this year, but she expressed concerns about monitoring U.S. aid in Ukraine.
She expressed significant worries regarding the absence of accountability for the billions of dollars allocated to Ukraine. The Pentagon continues to provide reports indicating that they cannot trace billions of dollars spent.
"President Trump is the only person who can solve that conflict," Stefanik stated. "Among modern-day presidents, Putin invaded other countries during every president except for Trump."
On the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, Stefanik stated that she is not confident the U.S. is adequately prepared to prevent another such tragedy.
"The Iranians are on the march, as the same terrorists who chant 'Death to Israel' also chant 'Death to America,'" she said. "We have individuals on our terrorist watch list who have crossed our open borders, posing a national security threat."
