The Trump campaign claims a "clear victory" in the Harris debate.
Despite debate watchers declaring victory for Harris, undecided voters remain hesitant.
Despite recent reports that Vice President Kamala Harris is gaining momentum in battlegrounds Georgia and North Carolina, the Trump campaign is still claiming former President Trump's debate performance this week as a clear victory against Harris.
According to senior Trump campaign adviser Tim Murtaugh, the little reaction of the audience to the debate and performance is just a sugar high, which is artificial and based solely on the fact that she came out and delivered her memorized lines, and put on a great performance, which we expected her to do since she's capable of memorizing things and performing well.
The debate was highly anticipated, with millions of people tuning in to hear why the candidate was running for president. Despite the anticipation, the candidate failed to provide any insight into her record, goals, or plans, leaving the audience disappointed.
Trump announced on Thursday that he will not participate in any more debates, according to the campaign's assessment.
Despite initial predictions of victory for Harris following Tuesday's debate, six toss-up states with a combined 78 electoral votes still make the election uncertain.
Over the past year, between 48%-50% of registered voters have supported Trump on Planet Chronicle polls. Although Biden's support was as low as 45% earlier this year, Harris is now only one point behind Trump at 49% in the latest Fox national survey.
Murtaugh believes Trump had a strong performance and refused to let Harris evade her liberal record and her role in the Biden-Harris administration.
"Murtaugh stated that the president has reversed her stance on several issues, including outlawing health insurance, gun confiscation, tax cuts, and even plastic straws."
"Murtaugh stated that she needed to separate herself from the Biden-Harris administration, but she did not do so. While pundits may think she gave a great performance, the grocery store does not allow food to be purchased based on style points."
According to Reuters and interviews with undecided voters, middle-of-the-road voters may not have been convinced by the victory of Harris, despite pundits and debate watchers calling it as such.
Murtaugh stated that she failed to connect with those people and convince them of her sincerity, as she didn't get another chance to make a first impression on them.
