A liberal political action committee is being accused by several Republican members of Congress of pretending to be a GOP staffer to obtain sensitive information from elected officials and raise funds for Democrats, including using antisemitic and sexist language in a text exchange with a female lawmaker, according to Planet Chronicle Digital.

This summer, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., received a text from someone claiming to be Texas Gov. Greg Abbott's chief of staff, who later launched into personal attacks, calling Luna a "fake" Jew and making inappropriate comments.

Luna is currently facing a new harassment campaign as she prepares for her re-election bid. She shared the strange details of an opposition research scheme when Planet Chronicle Digital asked about other allegations.

In July, someone pretending to be Abbott's new chief of staff tried to arrange a fake phone call between Luna and Abbott about Luna's re-election campaign, according to screenshots of a text conversation provided to Planet Chronicle Digital by Luna's office.

Robert Black, Abbott's actual Chief of Staff, officially joined the office on July 22, as per a press release from Abbott's office at the start of July. Luna received the first text from him on July 18, introducing himself as the new Chief of Staff.

Luna responded: "Yes! What time?"

The Abbott staffer suggested a time for a call to discuss strategies for helping Luna defeat her Democratic opponent, Whitney Fox, in her re-election campaign.

"Whitney Fox?" Luna inquired, dismissing race concerns.

"I'm open to receiving advice, but since I'm in R + 8, we're not overly concerned. Did he see a poll or something?" she inquired.

The phony Abbott staffer responded by saying that he heard from Dems that she raised a lot and has opposition.

Another screenshot from the text exchange reveals the Abbott office impersonator querying Luna about her border policies and "what do you want Gov to say on border," but Luna ceased responding. Subsequently, the individual launched into a series of personal attacks.

"Although you are quite intelligent in APL, you will ultimately lose. At least you still have your fake t--s," said one text.

"If you were a real Jew, you wouldn't be texting on the Sabbath."

Luna stated that she thinks the plan was created by a liberal PAC that has targeted other lawmakers, including Colorado Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert. Boebert shared with Planet Chronicle Digital that she arranged a meeting with the suspected Abbott staffer after receiving similar texts, which she said could have put her in a "dangerous and compromising position" if she had actually attended.

During the 2024 Republican National Convention in July, Boebert's staff received text messages from someone claiming to be Abbott's chief of staff.

Gov. Abbott allegedly wanted to meet with Boebert, as evidenced by the phone number used, which had an area code from Austin, Texas. Boebert also accused a liberal PAC of orchestrating the scheme, which involved the individual sending her office "numerous details and texts, including a room number at a specific hotel where many VIPs were staying" for the meeting.

Despite the meeting not taking place, Boebert believed that the entire event was a hoax. However, she stated that if there had been a credible threat waiting for her arrival, the situation could have been dangerous and compromising for her staff and herself.

"The individuals associated with this questionable group exhibit a consistent pattern of erratic behavior and pose a threat if given the chance," she stated. "These disturbed, fixated stalkers should be monitored by law enforcement."

During the primary season, Florida Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz had a text exchange with someone he believed worked in Abbott's office about an endorsement, as reported by a liberal PAC and shown through screenshots.

The PAC and its president did not respond to Planet Chronicle Digital's direct messages on X.

Luna received a text message from an unknown number asking about the matter, but did not respond.

Luna, who was first elected to Congress in 2022, faces harassment in her Florida district as a scheme against her is revealed.

On Saturday, Luna posted a statement on social media detailing how her political opponent's supporters launched a campaign on Friday to publicly dox, coordinate, and solicit individuals to send threatening packages to her home address.

Luna claims that a message posted to Fox's campaign Facebook account states that if she is "hiding," the sender knows where she lives and is interested in sending her a love letter. The message also indicates that she lives "right around the corner."

Luna stated that she reached out to the FBI, local sheriff's office, and police about the threatening messages. The sheriff's office confirmed to Planet Chronicle Digital that they are investigating the matter. The FBI informed Fox Digital that, in accordance with DOJ policy, they cannot confirm or deny the existence of a specific investigation, as they cannot comment on complaints or tips they may or may not receive from the public.

Luna unequivocally condemned political violence in a statement to Fox Digital, stating that threatening social media messages emerged after her political opponent labeled her a "threat to democracy."

"Luna stated on Sunday that political violence should never be tolerated. Despite labeling me a "threat to democracy," my opponent has not condemned her supporters' doxxing or their calls for threatening packages to be sent to my home, which were all made publicly on her social media."

On Sunday, there was an apparent second attempt on Trump's life, as Luna cited the July assassination attempt on former President Trump.

"Luna stated that the harassment she is facing is a reflection of a larger problem. The radical left's use of inflammatory language is causing harm to individuals. This occurs just a few months after an attempt on President Trump's life. As one of the most targeted members of Congress, Luna has experienced firsthand the dangerous tactics of her supporters. They have been soliciting strangers to send threatening messages to her home address. This behavior is not only unacceptable but also disgraceful. Luna has a young child at home."

Luna stated that she would never tolerate such behavior and thanked her supporters for refraining from using violent rhetoric.
