The DNC has kicked off, but the Harris campaign website still lacks policy positions.
In contrast to Biden, Trump did not release a policy document in 2020.
Despite being the informal nominee for over a month, the Harris campaign website still lacks any policy plans.
The Democratic nominee has been criticized for not participating in interviews or press conferences as the Democratic National Convention begins this week. Despite becoming the formal nominee two weeks ago following a roll call vote by party delegates, Harris' website still lacks detailed policy plans.
The Democrat nominee's website has pages for donations, volunteering, merchandise, and a FAQ page. It also includes bios for Harris and her vice presidential candidate, Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota. Users can contact the campaign via a general email address if their question cannot be answered via the FAQ page.
During his presidential campaign in 2020, Joe Biden assigned a team of advisors to create an 110-page policy document, as reported by The New York Times. Similarly, Hillary Clinton had over 200 distinct policy proposals during her 2016 campaign, also noted by the Times.
The former President Trump's 2024 campaign website has a "platform" tab with a 20-point policy agenda covering various topics, including the economy and the ongoing crime surge.
Harris announced her first major policy rollout last week, which included a ban on price gouging by food and grocery companies, a $6,000 child tax credit, tax incentives for first-generation homeowners, and a promise to target landlords and real estate investors for predatory practices that she blames for rising housing costs.
Despite the absence of economic plans on the Harris-Walz campaign website, a report from the conservative Media Research Center revealed that between 71% and 86% of Democrats and Independents were either unaware or had not heard of Harris' stance on various topics.
"As L. Brent Bozell III, the founder and president of the Media Research Center, stated, "It's 2020 all over again, with another leftist media cover-up deciding the election.""
The Harris campaign did not respond to Planet Chronicle Digital's request for comment by press time.
