The Democratic National Convention will feature speeches from Biden, Obama, and the Clintons before Harris' official nomination.
On Thursday, Vice President Kamala Harris will officially receive the Democratic presidential nomination.
The Democratic National Convention in Chicago will see top Democrats, including President Biden and former U.S. presidents, celebrate Vice President Kamala Harris' nomination as the party's commander in chief.
Here’s who to watch:
President Biden
Biden is predicted to address the convention on Monday evening, commencing the week-long proceedings.
After suspending his re-election campaign, Biden delivers a highly anticipated speech.
A month ago, Biden was viewed as the presumptive Democratic presidential candidate after winning every Democratic primary race without opposition.
After a poor debate performance against former President Trump in June, Democrats urged Biden to abandon his re-election campaign.
Biden eventually gave in to the pressure and declared the suspension of his re-election campaign only days after the Republican National Convention concluded with a finalized GOP ticket of Trump and his running mate, Sen. JD Vance of Ohio.
As more Democratic lawmakers and top Democrats publicly urged Biden to drop out of the race, party leadership also tried to convince him that he couldn't win against Trump in November's general election.
Biden swiftly pledged his "complete backing and approval" for Harris to succeed as the Democratic Party's presidential candidate.
Hillary Clinton
As well, Hillary Clinton, the former Secretary of State and twice-failed presidential nominee, will speak at the Democratic National Convention on Monday night.
In 2016, Clinton became the first woman to be a major political party's presidential nominee.
Trump, though, won the 2016 presidential election.
If Harris wins in November, she will be the first woman to become the president of the United States.
Former President Obama
Former President Obama is expected to address the Democratic National Convention Tuesday night.
According to sources, it was a group of Obama allies and former advisers who urged Biden to drop out of the race, including his former adviser David Axelrod, George Clooney, a personal friend of the Obamas, and others.
Obama, who had Biden as his vice president for two terms, ultimately endorsed Harris after Biden exited the race but not immediately.
Obama initially stated that the party would be "charting new territory" but expressed "confidence" that the Democratic Party would "produce a standout nominee."
The process appeared to be just top Democrats publicly supporting Harris and a surge in grassroots donations following the announcement of her presidential campaign.
Former President Clinton
Former President Clinton is expected to address the Democratic National Convention Wednesday night.
The Clintons endorsed Harris quickly after Biden exited the race.
"We, like millions of Americans, express gratitude to President Biden for his unwavering commitment to the well-being of the country. We are proud to stand alongside him in endorsing Vice President Harris and pledge to assist her in any way possible."
Before Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, the Democratic vice presidential nominee, delivers his speech, Clinton's address is anticipated.
Gov. Tim Walz
On Wednesday night, Tim Walz, the Democratic vice presidential nominee, is predicted to speak at the Democratic National Convention.
Last week, Harris announced Walz as her running mate for the governorship of Minnesota.
Minnesota has witnessed several progressive policy triumphs under Walz's leadership, including safeguarding abortion rights, legalizing recreational marijuana, and limiting gun access to reduce shootings.
Walz, who was elected to the House in 2006 and re-elected five times, represented Minnesota's 1st Congressional District, a mostly rural district covering the southern part of the state that includes a number of midsize cities. In his final two years on Capitol Hill, he served as the ranking member of the House Veterans Affairs Committee.
Walz won election as governor in 2018 and re-election four years later.
Vice President Kamala Harris
On Thursday night, Kamala Harris will officially receive the Democratic presidential nomination and deliver her first address to the party and the country.
Almost a month since becoming the presumptive Democratic nominee, Harris has not given a press conference or done a sit-down interview with the media.
This is the second time Harris is running for president.
In 2019, Harris began her first presidential campaign for the 2020 election cycle. Despite participating in debates, she eventually suspended her campaign before the first primary, the 2020 Iowa caucuses.
