The Biden-Harris administration has been criticized for its repeated failures in the field of health care, according to an analysis.
Report claims that the Biden-Harris administration prioritized identity politics over medical expertise.
The IRA has led to a 21.5% increase in Part D premiums and a drastic reduction in available plans due to the Biden-Harris administration's handling of health care policies, according to an analysis by the Health Market and Policy Network, led by Joe Grogan.
The $10 billion subsidy to insurers provided by the administration is a short-term solution to address the problems caused by recent changes, according to an analysis sent to health care groups on Monday.
The analysis, released the day before the presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Trump, criticized the administration's handling of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and Medicare Advantage (MA) plans for allegedly enabling widespread fraud and costing billions, while cuts and stricter regulations have made it harder for seniors to access benefits.
"As the presidential debate approaches and Election Day is fast approaching, the topic of health care policy will be discussed intensely. According to Grogan, many in the legacy media have been too eager to promote the Biden administration's progressive narrative that more government control and increased spending are necessary for better health outcomes. However, a more balanced assessment of the Biden-Harris record is crucial to help Americans comprehend the issues."
"Our analysis shows that health care policy has been plagued by catastrophically flawed legislation, counterproductive regulations, and an executive branch more focused on control than positive outcomes," he stated.
The Biden-Harris administration suppressed medical opinions that contradicted their preferred narratives and censored dissenting scientists.
The report claimed that by increasing subsidies and providing free plans to people above the poverty line, they unintentionally encouraged some individuals to falsely claim low incomes. As a result, approximately 5 million people were fraudulently enrolled, resulting in a financial loss of $15 billion to $20 billion for taxpayers in 2024.
The report reveals that ACA brokers' poor oversight led to the unintentional enrollment of thousands of Americans in ACA-backed plans without their knowledge or consent.
The report suggests that the Biden-Harris administration's modifications to Medicare Advantage (MA) plans have resulted in reduced payments to insurers and made it more challenging for these plans to provide additional benefits to seniors. As a result, new restrictions and lower payments may lead to higher costs for beneficiaries and a reduction in benefits such as dental and vision care.
The administration prioritized radical identity politics over medical expertise, as per the analysis, and in 2021, they offered extra pay to doctors who made plans to focus on race in their care. Additionally, they required brain research groups to include diversity goals in their funding applications.
Last month, the Biden-Harris administration used taxpayer money to conceal impending Medicare premium hikes, according to critics.
Medicare beneficiaries may face significant premium increases for their prescription drug coverage under the IRA, with average Part D plan bids projected to triple by 2025.
The cost of prescription drugs in America has increased by nearly 40% over the past decade, significantly more than the rate of inflation.
The CMS launched a three-year "demonstration project" in August to subsidize premiums for Medicare Advantage plans, with the aim of keeping them artificially low. However, critics argue that taxpayers will fund a significant increase in subsidies from $30 per recipient per month in 2024 to $142.70 in 2025, raising concerns about the long-term impact on government spending and debt.
