Texas Gov. Abbott advises Trump on debate strategy: 'Let Harris speak'
The Texas governor declares he will continue campaigning for Trump to alert Americans about the Biden-Harris border crisis.
Greg Abbott, the Republican governor of Texas, has participated in numerous political debates throughout his career.
As Texas governor, Abbott served three terms and won two re-elections after previously serving three terms as state attorney general.
Trump's advice to him before the first and possibly final debate between the GOP presidential candidate and Vice President Harris, the Democratic Party's nominee, is "Let Harris speak."
In an interview with Planet Chronicle Digital at the Republican Jewish Coalition's annual leadership meeting in Las Vegas, Abbott stated that the more she speaks without a teleprompter, the more America sees that she is not qualified for the task.
Abbott stated that if Trump allows Harris to speak and concentrates on three issues, including the border, inflation caused by Harris and Biden, and the rapid crime in some cities, caused by people like Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Walz, Americans will comprehend that they do not want Harris to lead the country, as it will result in its destruction.
In November 2020, the governor endorsed Trump for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination, before the start of the Republican primaries in early 2021, when the two leaders collaborated on an event along the U.S.-Mexico border.
This week, Abbott campaigned in Arizona for Trump and will continue to advocate for him.
The border state governor stated that he will continue campaigning for President Trump because he is the most knowledgeable about border issues.
Abbott has long made border security a top priority, frequently clashing with the Biden administration on the issue. Moving forward, border security will likely remain a top concern for Abbott as he prepares for a 2026 re-election campaign.
Biden and Harris's policy changes have put America on a pathway of destruction, according to Abbott.
If the former president regains his previous position, Abbott believes a second Trump term would be fruitful.
The governor stated that during his first term, they worked well, particularly on border security-related issues. However, this time will be better because he will enter office with more knowledge, knowing which actions to take and how to quickly implement them.
Abbott stated that he had discussed with him his plans for the upcoming time, and he would be more aggressive this time compared to the previous one as he needed to correct the damage caused to the United States by Harris and Biden.
