Taylor Swift publicly supported Kamala Harris for president following her debate with Donald Trump.
The pop star announced on Instagram that she will be voting for Harris because she is a "warrior" for the rights and causes she believes in.
"I have completed my research and made my decision. It is now up to you to do your own research and make your own choice. As a reminder, especially for first-time voters, in order to vote, you must be registered. Additionally, I suggest voting early as it is a more convenient option. I will provide a link to register and find early voting dates and information in my story."
Swift signed a post that read: "Taylor Swift, Childless Cat Lady," referencing Trump's running mate J.D. Vance's 2021 interview where he stated, "We are effectively run in this country, via the Democrats, via our corporate oligarchs, by a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they’ve made, and so they wanna make the rest of the country miserable, too."
Within minutes, the post had garnered more than 2 million likes.
Brittany Mahomes faced criticism from some of Swift's fans after he endorsed Trump.
A 29-year-old pregnant woman, Mahomes, initially showed her support for Trump on Aug. 13 by liking his Instagram post about the "2024 GOP platform."
The backlash against the wife of the superstar quarterback intensified after a like ignited a firestorm of criticism, including from fans of Taylor Swift. The controversy was amplified by multiple fan pages dedicated to Swift, who posted screenshots of the like on social media.
