Report: Bush remains mum on 2024 voting intentions.
John McCain and Mitt Romney were previously supported by Bush.
George W. Bush will not disclose his 2024 election vote choice.
"The former president's office responded to NBC News' inquiry by stating that President Bush had retired from political activities."
Dick Cheney's announcement of supporting Vice President Kamala Harris in November has prompted Bush's refusal to make a public endorsement for his party's candidate.
"Never in our nation's 248-year history has there been a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump," Cheney stated. "He attempted to steal the last election through lies and violence in an attempt to maintain power after the voters had rejected him. He cannot be trusted with power again."
Cheney's endorsement of Trump was met with a scathing response from the former president, who labeled the former vice president "an irrelevant RINO" in a Truth Social post.
On Sunday, Harris stated that she was "pleased" to receive Cheney's endorsement, emphasizing that it "confirms for them that we share a love for our country and have more in common than our differences."
The Harris campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Bush's silence from Planet Chronicle Digital.
Despite his office's claim that he retired from presidential politics, Bush has endorsed Republican presidential candidates in the past. In 2008, he supported John McCain's bid against Barack Obama, and in 2012, he backed Mitt Romney's candidacy.
Bush's stance on presidential politics shifted with the arrival of former President Donald Trump in 2016, prompting him to refrain from commenting on Trump. Instead, Bush concentrated on supporting Republican senators. In November, his office announced that he and the former first lady did not cast their votes for either major party candidate in the 2016 election.
In the 2020 election, Bush admitted to writing in Rice for president.
The Trump campaign did not provide a comment when asked by Planet Chronicle Digital.
