Protesters Oppose VP Harris Nomination Near DNC, Distribute Flyers for Global 'Intifada'
Pro-Israel protesters rally against Vice President Harris, dubbed 'Killer Kamala,' during her DNC nomination speech.
Protesters opposing Israel gathered near the United Center, where the Democratic National Convention concludes, to convey to Vice President Kamala Harris that Democrats are supporting a "genocide" of the Palestinian people and are not doing enough to achieve a ceasefire agreement.
In the midst of the anti-Israel protesters, who mostly had their faces concealed, were scattered groups advocating for their own causes, including pro-life activists and those protesting against corporations and former President Trump.
Nearly all the groups were strongly against Israel. The activist group Healing Our Homeland distributed flyers with the message, "Globalize the Intifada."
"One protester near a DNC security checkpoint yelled, 'Israel is a terrorist state,' and demanded an end to funding for the country."
At the convention, a protester used a bullhorn to declare that nothing the officials say or do will erase the blood of Palestinian men, women, and children from their hands.
Before marching, Chicago Police Superintendent Larry Snelling and officers led demonstrators who gathered around 5 p.m.
Protesters waved signs and Palestinian flags while chanting on bullhorns: "The solution is intifada revolution" and "Long live the antifada."
"Cole Bennett, a protester, stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that he does not support VP Harris' Israel policy. He explained that their goal is a ceasefire deal, which is meaningless if Israel has the power to turn off aid and bombs. Bennett emphasized that Israel should immediately implement a ceasefire and not expect any votes from them until they do."
Another protester, Evan, held a sign that read "Joe Biden: Be a Man and Save the Kids" and "Withhold Arms."
"Joe Biden should be pressured to declare a ceasefire, and I believe he wouldn't suffer much backlash from it," he stated on Planet Chronicle Digital. "Since he's not running for re-election, he should put the team first and do what's best for the country. This would pave the way for November and attract a significant number of supporters."
"This is still Joe Biden's game," he added.
In the evening, American flags were burned by anti-Israel groups who marched toward the United Center.
On Thursday night, Kamala Harris was officially nominated by the DNC to be the Democratic Party's candidate for the upcoming presidential election against Donald Trump.
