Parental rights advocate says Walz's stance on abortion and religious freedom is similar to China and North Korea.
Renee Carlson claimed to Planet Chronicle Digital that cattle and reptiles have more rights in Minnesota than women and preborn children.
A Minneapolis parental rights advocate claims that Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz's policies on abortion and gender ideology are not moderate and that the state has become one of the most progressive in the country under his leadership.
Renee Carlson, General Counsel of True North Legal, a legal initiative of the Minnesota Family Council, was taken aback by the assertion that the candidate for his pick was a moderate who aligned with Minnesota values, as she shared with Planet Chronicle Digital.
"Many Minnesotans are astonished by the family-related policies enacted in Minnesota, which they believe do not align with the state's progressive ideology."
Walz's leadership has been criticized by Carlson on Planet Chronicle Digital for failing to address the issue of abortion effectively.
"We were disappointed with the administration's governance on protecting life and women, as their policies are some of the most extreme in the world, similar to those of China and North Korea, according to Carlson."
"Most Minnesotans did not agree with his policy of unrestricted abortion up to birth, which included minors and lacked protective guardrails. The repeal of the hospital-only law, physician-only laws, and 24-hour waiting period was also part of this policy. The woman's right to know was also affected, as it only provided information about the effects of abortion on their bodies."
In Minnesota, legislation was modified to eliminate safeguards for infants who survive an abortion and now receive only "comfort care" instead of "life-saving care."
"Carlson stated that the administration believes it's acceptable for preborn children who survive an abortion to die on a cold metal table, while cattle and reptiles in Minnesota have more rights than women and preborn children regarding abortion."
Gov. Walz has fallen short in protecting religious freedom, according to Carlson.
"She expressed extreme disappointment and held a radical stance, stating that the attack on our fundamental freedoms and First Amendment rights was brazen."
"The Minnesota Human Rights Act, like many states, contains anti-discrimination provisions based on specific categories, including gender identity. However, this provision sometimes conflicts with the sincerely held religious beliefs of religious people in Minnesota, which make up about half the population. In the 1990s, a special exemption was added to the act to protect religious organizations when sexual orientation was added as a protected class. This exemption demonstrated pluralism by providing protections for religious organizations. However, this exemption was removed last year."
She stated that these policies were not moderate, but rather brazen.
Walz, dubbed "Tampon Tim" by some Republicans for allowing menstrual products in boys' school bathrooms, has also received a failing grade from Carlson regarding gender ideology.
""Minnesota, despite being in the Midwest, is surprisingly progressive when it comes to gender policies, with their policies indicating a desire for gender ideology to be the dominant category," she stated."
The Walz administration has not demonstrated moderation and has enacted some of the most progressive policies, according to Carlson's statement to Planet Chronicle Digital.
She expressed disappointment that some of the most extreme progressive laws have been enforced by their state agencies.
"The struggle for religious freedom in Minnesota is a cause for concern, as it could set a dangerous precedent for the rest of the country. This is not a moderate administration, and the policies being passed in Minnesota are some of the most progressive and extreme in the country. It is important for people to take a closer look at these policies and their potential consequences."
The Harris-Walz campaign did not respond to Planet Chronicle Digital's request for comment.
