'Omar challenger criticizes Walz for adopting policies similar to 'Squad''
In November, Omar is likely to face opposition from Dalia Al-Aqidi in MN-05.
Ilhan Omar's GOP opponent is cautioning Americans about Gov. Tim Walz's progressive policies, which he believes are similar to those of the controversial Minnesota congresswoman.
GOP congressional candidate Dalia Al-Aqidi stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that Walz is fully behind her opponent, Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar.
"The far-left and progressives were the first to support the nomination of the Squad, posting photos of Walz on social media. Our attorney general, Keith Ellison, celebrated this, thinking it was good for the country. However, Al-Aqidi stated that we do not want socialism in our country as it failed in its origins and will not help here."
Al-Aqidi, a journalist who fled the dictatorship of Saddam Hussein in Iraq and worked across the globe, disagrees with the media narrative that Walz is a "moderate" politician.
Jewish organizations react to Harris' Walz pick: "A far-left nightmare."
"Al-Aqidi stated that comparing Walz's moderation to Omar's pro-Israel stance is a false equivalency. If one believes that, then they would believe that. However, Walz was not chosen for his high profile, but rather because his policies match those of the district in Minneapolis. Specifically, Walz's policies were responsible for the city being burned and he failed to take action during the riots."
"Al-Aqidi stated that he did not support the law enforcement and that he did not support the community. He urged people to visit Minneapolis and see the violence and crime rates, which have resulted in suffering. He added that Walz is not a moderate and invited everyone who supports him to come and see the sad state of downtown."
Al-Aqidi argued that because VP Harris supported a bail fundraiser for BLM rioters and Walz delayed calling in the National Guard, their joint candidacy for president would result in Minnesota's 5th District being turned into a battleground.
"This is the first time in American history that we have two very far-left progressives on the ticket, and if they are in charge, she supported bailing the criminals who were detained after the riots and after the burning and destruction. This is very dangerous."
Omar and Walz have frequently lauded one another throughout their careers, and Omar promptly congratulated Walz on his vice presidential nomination by sharing a photo of the two of them on social media.
"Our North Star state Governor has enacted universal school meals, paid family and sick leave, marijuana legalization, and reproductive rights protections into law," Omar tweeted. "Minnesota nice is now on the ticket."
The Harris-Walz campaign and Omar's office did not respond to Planet Chronicle Digital's request for comment.
On August 13th, Minnesota will hold their primaries, with Al-Aqidi running unopposed and Omar predicted to defeat her three Democratic opponents.
