Ohio Dem Sherrod Brown is called out by GOP challenger for not disclosing information about Biden's health.
Senator Sherrod Brown was urged by Bernie Moreno to disclose information about Joe Biden's mental health.
On Thursday, Bernie Moreno, the Ohio Senate candidate, called on Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, to confess about the Democratic Party's alleged attempt to conceal President Biden's mental health.
A Republican businessman named Moreno held a press conference outside Brown's office in Washington, D.C., and stated that Democrats, including Brown, concealed the truth about the president's incapacitation from the American public for political gain, allowing them to push through their liberal agenda.
Since his poor debate performance last month, there have been many calls for Biden to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race, as his sluggish speech and unclear answers raised doubts about his mental abilities. The Republicans have since launched a campaign against the Democrats, claiming that they are hiding Biden's age and mental lapses.
Despite CNN and Axios reporting that Brown privately believes Biden cannot win in November, the Ohio senator has largely remained silent on whether Biden should step aside.
On Wednesday, he stated that he has received "concerns" from his Ohio constituents regarding Biden.
Brown stated that he is aware of legitimate concerns from Ohioans regarding the president, but he must continue to work for his state to combat high prescription drug prices and create jobs.
"This guy is a coward, Moreno said of Brown. He is now hiding from his lies because he knows that people have seen what you can't unsee. It's a disgrace and a shame. And he is a superdelegate. I remind all of you that he refuses to take a position on where he stands with Biden. It's completely disgraceful."
If Biden drops out of the race, the superdelegates, including Brown, will have a crucial role in choosing the Democratic Party's presidential nominee.
Brown has been accused by Moreno of being complicit in "the greatest cover-up in American history" by remaining silent about Biden's fitness for office.
"Watergate on steroids, they knew all along, including Sherrod Brown, who has been friends with Joe Biden for decades. So it's not a casual acquaintance," he said.
Moreno's news conference outside of Brown's office was accused of being a "political game" by a spokesman for Brown's campaign.
"As Sherrod serves the people of Ohio, Bernie Moreno was once again involved in political games that reveal his self-centered motives," stated Deputy Communications Director Matt Keyes.
The Ohio Senate race is one of only three Senate races rated as a "Toss Up" by nonpartisan political handicapper Cook Political Report. With split-ticket voting decreasing, candidates for Senate have a higher chance of being elected if their presidential nominee also wins their state.
