Obama receives praise from Trump while his predecessor criticizes him at the DNC.
At the DNC, Obama received applause after responding to Trump's comments about his 'crowd sizes' with a gesture.
On Wednesday night, former President Trump surprised his critics by praising former President Barack Obama, despite their ideological differences.
Trump expressed his liking for the Illinois Democrat in a comment to CNN.
Trump stated that he believes the man is a kind gentleman, but he was not strong in trade. Despite this, he likes and respects the man and his wife.
In a panel, CNN reporter Jamie Gangel questioned, "Who is that man?"
CNN anchor John King was taken aback by Trump's comments and compared them to an interview he conducted with the then-first-time candidate the day Obama released his Hawaiian birth certificate under pressure from Trump.
In contrast to Obama's comments on Trump during his Democratic National Convention speech, Trump's words were later scrutinized.
The crowd erupted in boisterous laughter when Obama mimicked an inappropriate hand gesture while mocking Trump's alleged fixation on crowd sizes.
"Obama stated that the 78-year-old billionaire has been whining about his problems since he descended the golden escalator nine years ago, and that his constant stream of gripes and grievances has become even more intense as he fears losing to Kamala."
"The childish nicknames, crazy conspiracy theories, and weird obsession with crowd sizes are evident."
Michelle Obama also criticized Trump during her speech, stating that he has claimed that illegal immigration has negatively impacted minorities. Trump mentioned in the June debate with Biden that the increase in migrants is taking away jobs from Black people.
Michelle Obama posed a question to the DNC crowd, asking who would be willing to convey to Trump that "the job he's running for may be one of those Black jobs."
RNC Chairman Michael Whatley stated that the DNC is no longer "Barack Obama's Democrat Party" when questioned about the disparity.
"Kamala Harris is even more dangerously liberal. As California's attorney general, she defied the Obama administration to allow law enforcement to ignore ICE detainers, and she has driven the party even further left by pushing to end private health insurance, impose the job-killing Green New Scam, and spearhead runaway wasteful spending that has driven inflation."
