The senator cited Matthew 19:6, which states, "They are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no one separate."
A range of individuals from the political sphere were present at the event, including former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, Senators John Thune and Lindsey Graham, and Representative Mark Walker.
"Congratulations to Senator Tim Scott and Mindy on their beautiful wedding in Charleston," Walker wrote on X. "I admire this man and have witnessed his unwavering commitment to God in the face of adversity."
