Kennedy family members condemn RFK Jr.'s Trump endorsement as a violation of family values.
RFK Jr.'s presidential bid has faced criticism from members of the Kennedy family.
After giving his full-throated support to former President Trump on Friday, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.'s family condemned him for "betraying" their family values.
The former third-party presidential candidate's siblings signed a statement expressing their desire for an America filled with hope and unity, characterized by individual freedom, economic prosperity, and national pride.
"Our brother Bobby's decision to endorse Trump [Friday] is a betrayal of the values that our family holds most dear. It is a sad ending to a sad story."
The statement signed by Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, Courtney Kennedy, Kerry Kennedy, Chris Kennedy, and Rory Kennedy was praised by Joe Kennedy III, a grandson of Robert F. Kennedy, as "well said."
Jack Schlossberg, RFK Jr.'s cousin, stated that his relative was "up for grabs" and now "is employed" by Trump.
"I have never been less surprised in my life. For over a year, I have been saying that RFK Jr. is for sale and works for Trump. They are now bedfellows and loving it," Schlossberg wrote in an X post. "Kamala Harris is for the people, and the easiest decision of all time just got easier."
Caroline Kennedy's son, Schlossberg, has been critical of his cousin's campaign.
Schlossberg initially dismissed RFK Jr.'s candidacy as an "embarrassment."
Recently, the 31-year-old spoke at the Democratic National Convention and has been an ardent supporter of Harris.
On Friday, the independent presidential candidate withdrew his White House bid and declared his support for Trump.
During an event in Phoenix, Arizona, he announced that he had made the difficult decision to suspend his campaign and support President Trump. This choice was painful for him because it created challenges for him, his children, and his friends.

Bobby Kennedy later joined Trump onstage at an Arizona rally, prompting the crowd to chant his name.
"RFK Jr. stated that three reasons motivated him to enter the race, which were free speech, the war in Ukraine, and the war on our children. These were the primary factors that led him to leave the Democratic Party and run as an independent, ultimately supporting President Trump."
The Democratic National Committee "continued legal war" against both Trump and RFK Jr., while also alleging that the DNC ran a "sham primary" that hindered a genuine primary challenge to President Biden before he won the Democratic nomination in July and later endorsed Harris.
