A New York Times poll shows that more voters believe Vice President Kamala Harris is "too liberal or progressive" on important policy issues than they consider former President Donald Trump as "too conservative."

A recent poll by The New York Times and Sienna College showed Trump leading Harris by just one percentage point, 48% to 47%, indicating that her political momentum from the DNC may be fading as the election approaches its conclusion.

The New York Times poll revealed that nearly half of voters considered Trump to be "not too far" from the center on key issues, while only about one-third of voters deemed him "too conservative."

Nearly half of voters surveyed, at 44%, reported that Harris is "too liberal and progressive," while 42% found that she's "not too far either way."

One of Trump's overlooked advantages is his lead over Harris as a more centrist candidate, as reported by The New York Times.

The Times reported that he is outside the political mainstream in many respects, having denied the 2020 election result and holding conservative views on immigration. However, he has also taken positions that would have been more likely held by a Democrat than a Republican a decade ago, such as opposition to cutting entitlements, support for a cooperative relationship with Russia, and opposition to free trade. He carefully protects his reputation by not supporting Project 2025 and taking a cagey position on additional measures to restrict abortion.

While 9% of voters said that Harris was not liberal or progressive enough, 11% believed that Trump was not conservative enough.

A new poll has been released, showing Trump leading Biden 48-47, following a previous poll in late July that raised concerns about Biden's mental acuity.

On Sunday, a poll revealed that 28% of voters require additional information about Harris to back her, compared to 9% who felt the same about Trump.

Since her first sit-down interview with the media last month, Harris has mostly avoided the media. As of Sunday, she has gone 49 days as the presumptive and now official Democratic nominee for president without holding an official press conference.
