A body language expert who analyzed Vice President Kamala Harris' first interview with the media since becoming the Democratic presidential nominee believes she appeared "uncertain" and lacked a "presidential demeanor," according to Planet Chronicle Digital.
Despite avoiding the press since becoming the Democratic ticket's vice president, Kamala Harris sat down for a CNN interview with Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz on Thursday night. However, she frequently looked down while answering questions.
"Susan Constantine, a body language expert, stated on Planet Chronicle Digital that when she observes the overall demeanor of the person in question, she does not see the confidence or presidential appearance in her body language. As a result, she believes that the individual needs to make adjustments to their body language in order to appear more confident."
She stated that her frequent downward gaze diminishes both the natural flow and the sincerity.
During the interview, Harris was questioned about her "day one" plan but responded with general answers rather than providing a specific executive order or directive.
"When she struggles, you can see a lot of head bobbling. It's because she's trying to figure out which parts of the file in her subconscious she should pull out to answer the question." Constantine said about Harris. "She can't come up with a clear answer, so she tends to bobble."
""Bobbling and waffling like that indicates she's not fully prepared and lacks confidence in her own answers," Constantine stated."
"Constantine stated that breaking gaze is a form of deflection. Therefore, when someone avoids eye contact while speaking, it indicates a lack of confidence in their words."
During the interview in Savannah, Georgia, Walz sat next to Harris and Constantine observed that Harris was frequently seeking recognition.
She is searching for Walz's signal to confirm his agreement. Often, when we observe him, he has a serious and composed expression on his face, with pressed lips.
Harris' performance in the interview was not immediately commented on by the Harris campaign when requested by Planet Chronicle Digital.
"As a woman in power, you must appear like one, according to Constantine. However, she does not currently embody this image."
