In a campaign ad, Kamala Harris criticizes former Trump officials, including Mike Pence, as "dangerous."
Last month, Mike Pence stated that he would never vote for Harris or Walz.
Several former top Trump officials, including former Vice President Mike Pence, will be featured in a new ad from the Harris campaign that criticizes Trump as "dangerous."
An ad titled "The Best People" will be aired on multiple Fox affiliates across the country on the same day as ABC's presidential debate Tuesday, and it will highlight criticisms of Trump from former top officials he once hired.
Pence stated in August 2023 that anyone who prioritizes themselves over the Constitution should never be President of the United States. This statement was made in response to an indictment against former President Donald Trump for allegedly interfering with the 2020 election results. The Harris campaign later utilized this remark in a new ad, along with a second comment made by Pence on Planet Chronicle six months prior, stating that he would not be endorsing Trump for president.
"According to those who knew him best," the narrator states in the advertisement.
Although the former vice president appeared in a new ad criticizing Trump, his decision not to endorse Trump does not necessarily mean he is endorsing Kamala Harris, a spokesperson for Advancing American Freedom, a nonprofit founded by Pence, stated. In fact, Pence made it clear last month in Atlanta, Georgia, that he could never vote for Harris as president or her running mate, Tim Walz.
The new Harris campaign advertisement featured remarks from former defense secretary under Trump, Mark Esper, that are over a year old.
Esper stated in a June 2023 CNN interview that Trump cannot be trusted with the nation's secrets due to the scrutiny over how he handled classified documents after leaving the White House. According to Esper, Trump's actions were irresponsible and put service members and national security at risk.
Esper's representatives were contacted by Planet Chronicle Digital to inquire about his awareness of the ad featuring him, but no response was received.
John Bolton and Gen. Mark Milley, both former Trump administration officials, have been critical of the former president in a new ad for Kamala Harris's campaign.
"Donald Trump's actions will lead to significant harm," as stated in the ad by Bolton. "His sole focus is on himself, Donald Trump."
In October 2023, Bolton's remarks in the advertisement were from an interview on CNN, while the more recent comments were made in a CNN interview that took place last week.
In his final address as the nation's top military general in September 2023, Milley stated in an ad that "we don't pledge allegiance to a monarch, a monarch, a tyrant, or a dictator." Additionally, he emphasized that "we don't pledge allegiance to a wannabee dictator."
No response was received from representatives for Bolton and Milley when Planet Chronicle Digital sought comment.
Meanwhile, Trump campaign National Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt criticized the new ad as an attempt to divert attention from Harris's "dangerously liberal" views.
On Monday, Leavitt stated that the Kamala campaign is employing the words of disillusioned losers in an attempt to divert attention from the fact that Kamala is losing support from moderate Democrats who recognize her liberal tendencies.
