Harris silent on armed Venezuelan migrant gangs despite calling for gun control after Georgia shooting.
A gun shop owner claims that gun violence is only discussed when it aligns with a specific narrative.
Critics charge that Vice President Kamala Harris has remained silent on alarming incidents involving armed Venezuelan migrant gangs overtaking apartment buildings, despite her quick call for action against gun violence after Wednesday's school shooting in Georgia that killed four and injured several others.
"Russell Stuart, a Beverly Hills school board candidate and gun shop owner, stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that it is telling how gun violence is only mentioned when it fits a particular narrative. He pointed out that VP Harris quickly politicizes the actions of a mentally ill 14-year-old boy but remains silent on the dangerous violence being carried out by illegal immigrant gangs in American cities."
He emphasized that law-abiding citizens should be ensured safety and security, and their protection should not be compromised due to political maneuvering and distraction.
On X Thursday, Harris expressed her grief over the gun violence at Apalachee High School in Georgia, stating that she and her husband were mourning the deaths of those whose lives were tragically cut short.
Harris wrote, "We stand with the students, teachers, and families affected by this shooting and express our gratitude to the first responders and law enforcement on the scene. This is a senseless tragedy, and it does not have to be this way. We must put an end to the gun violence epidemic in our country."
The school shooting in Georgia rekindled the debate over the Second Amendment and highlighted the contrasting policy positions between Harris and Trump during the tight election race.
The aftermath of a school shooting was met with a familiar reaction on social media, as advocates for stricter gun control measures renewed their demands and gun rights activists blamed the incident on a mental health crisis among teenagers.
"John Fabbricatore, a retired Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent and congressional candidate, stated in an interview with Planet Chronicle Digital that the cause of school shootings needs to be identified. According to him, it is not the guns that are responsible for these incidents, but rather the mindset of the children who commit them. He questioned why these young people believe they have the right to take the lives of others."
The main issue, as he stated, is why these kids believe it is right to kill others.
Since she has been in office for four years and has been criticized for weakened border security measures, it is unlikely that Harris will bring up the Venezuelan migrant gang apartment takeovers.
Rep. Carlos Gimenez, R-Fla., a Cuban-American lawmaker, stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that migrant gangs are taking over communities, but Harris ignores the consequences of her disastrous policies.
Daniel Di Martino, a Venezuelan-born researcher at the Manhattan Institute, stated that the alleged migrant gang takeover is intensified by local sanctuary state laws, as reported by Planet Chronicle Digital.
"Venezuelans cannot be deported to Venezuela, making it a challenging foreign policy issue for both Trump and Biden or Harris, regardless of who wins, according to Di Martino."
As of February, Venezuela's government led by President Nicolás Maduro has opted not to collaborate with expulsion orders.
Last year, a transnational gang from Venezuela reportedly seized control of an apartment complex in Aurora, Colorado, according to a local report.
In 2023, the Tren de Aragua gang seized control of the Whispering Pines Apartments, committing violent assaults, making murder threats, extorting residents, and engaging in child prostitution through strongarm tactics, according to a nine-page report from Denver law firm Perkins Coie, which was obtained by CBS News Colorado.
According to T. Markus Funk, a former U.S. Attorney, gang members are committing numerous criminal activities, including trespass violations, assaults and battery, human trafficking, and sexual abuse of minors, while also possessing unlawful firearms and engaging in extortion. These criminal activities often target vulnerable populations, particularly Venezuelan and other immigrant communities.
Planet Chronicle Digital did not receive a response from the Harris campaign.
