Florida's 21st Congressional District GOP primary is won by Brian Mast.
Republicans considered a safe bet in District.
On Tuesday, Florida's 21st Congressional District Republican nomination was won by Rep. Brian Mast, R-Fla.
In November's election, Democrat Thomas Witkop, who ran unopposed in the Democrat primary, will face Mast.
Since 2017, Mast has been representing the district, but faced a strong challenge from Businessman Rick Wiles, a media entrepreneur with 25 years of podcasting and film-producing experience.
Since 2016, Mast has been advocating for "draining the swamp" in Washington, D.C., by arguing that the Biden-Harris administration has been neglecting the needs of everyday Americans while sending money abroad.
In an interview with WJNO, Mast stated that this location is a swamp and that as a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, he is compelled to observe the administration distribute funds to foreign countries in ways that do not benefit the American people in any way.
In the interview, Mast stated that he supports term limits and is willing to step down from Congress to reform the system.
If elected, Wiles pledged to limit his service to three terms and reduce foreign war funding.
Mast stated that he is against funding any foreign war and would cut off money for all such conflicts if he were in Congress. He believes that other countries should pay for their own wars and their soldiers should fight them. He wants to keep America out of other countries' conflicts.
Mast's support for Israel was highlighted by Wiles, particularly an incident where Mast was photographed wearing an Israeli military uniform in Congress and admitted to traveling to Israel to engage in IDF activities.
""Brian Mast's actions of wearing an IDF uniform and volunteering to serve in Israel dishonored every member of the American Armed Forces and all our veterans, particularly my good friends in the USS Liberty Veterans Association who lost 34 shipmates during a surprise IDF attack in 1967," Wiles stated."
According to election experts like the Cook Political Report, Decision Desk HQ, and Sabato's Crystal Ball, the 21st District is considered a safe Republican seat.
