Dozens of migrants on terror watchlist released into US by Biden-Harris admin, report reveals.
House Judiciary Committee Republicans released the report.
A House report has uncovered that nearly 100 individuals on the terror watch list have been released into the US by the Biden administration, while Border Patrol agents have encountered migrants on the watch list from multiple countries.
According to a report by Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee, at least 99 illegal aliens on the terrorist watchlist who were encountered by Border Patrol at the southwest border between fiscal years 2021 and 2023 have been released into American communities by the Biden-Harris Administration, with at least 34 others still in DHS custody but not yet removed from the United States.
The interim report by the staff revealed that immigration judges granted bond to at least 27 migrants on the watchlist who entered illegally, and that Border Patrol has encountered tens of thousands of migrants from countries that could present national security risks, including 2,134 Afghan nationals, 33,347 Chinese nationals, 541 Iranian nationals, 520 Syrian nationals, and 3,104 Uzbek nationals.
The report states that the number of potential terrorists who entered the United States undetected by Border Patrol is not included in the 2 million "gotaways" since the start of the Biden-Harris Administration.
The report, based on information given to committee staff in June, revealed that Border Patrol had encountered migrants on the terror watchlist from 36 different countries, including countries with active terror presences. These countries include Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, Pakistan, Somalia, Syria, Tajikistan, and Yemen.
The Terrorist Screening Dataset (TSDS) now includes individuals who represent a potential threat to the United States, in addition to known or suspected terrorists (KSTs).
The number of encounters of potential terrorists on the watchlist has increased significantly since the Biden administration took office in 2021, as record numbers of migrants have been encountered at the southern border.
The Biden administration has accused Republicans of insufficient funding and reforms for a "broken" system, while Republicans attribute the crisis to the repeal of Trump-era policies by the Democratic administration.
Officials have warned that terrorists may attempt to enter the U.S. through the southern border, as seen when DHS identified over 400 individuals brought to the U.S. from Eastern European and Central Asian countries by an ISIS-affiliated smuggling network in the past several months.
After eight Tajikistan nationals with links to ISIS were arrested in New York City, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia, it was discovered that they had entered the country illegally through the southern border, despite no derogatory information being flagged during processing, according to sources.
According to the Judiciary Committee report, three Tajikistan nationals were released after using the CBP One phone application to schedule an appointment, while four were encountered by Border Patrol.
The staff interim report claims that the worst effects of the Biden-Harris Administration's immigration policies may still be yet to come, despite the already disastrous impact on American communities.
The Biden-Harris Administration's radical, open-borders agenda has resulted in a national security nightmare, with national security experts and immigration officials increasingly concerned about the threat of terrorism originating from the border. Policymakers must take all necessary steps to secure the border and stop the flow of illegal aliens.
