Despite saying he would work diligently until the end of his term, Biden has been on vacation for two consecutive weeks.

President Biden commenced his second consecutive week of vacation on Monday, offering further ammunition to detractors who argue he is not concluding his term with much zeal.

Biden has arrived at his beach house in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, and will remain there until at least Saturday. The president had previously spent a six-night vacation at a California ranch estate owned by Democratic Party donor Joe Kiani. Biden has no public events scheduled during his time at the beach this week.

The president has been criticized for taking excessive vacation time while he is supposed to be leading the country. During the third anniversary of the Kabul airport bombing that killed 13 American soldiers on Monday, White House national security communications adviser John Kirby was asked if Biden is now just a "ceremonial figure."

"Kirby stated that Biden had conversations with leaders in the region and Europe, including President Zelenskyy, last week. He also kept track of events in real-time over the weekend. Despite being on vacation, Kirby emphasized that Biden is always connected to his job and is in control of protecting national security interests both domestically and abroad."

Biden announced that he is not going anywhere and will continue to work hard until the end of his term in January 2025. He stated that he will focus on his job as president over the next six months, giving only his third speech from the Resolute desk since becoming commander in chief.

According to the Republican National Committee, after serving approximately two years and seven months as president, Biden spent roughly 40% of his time on vacation.

Rep. Mike Johnson, R-La., and other congressional Republicans have urged Biden's Cabinet to consider invoking the 25th Amendment, which enables the vice president to assume the president's duties if he is unable to perform the responsibilities required to run the White House. Democrats had also invoked the 25th Amendment during the last days of former President Trump's presidency.

"What is the current state of the country?" several social media users inquired on Thursday, including Rep. Wesley Hunt, R-Texas. "An Armed Illegal Alien Street Gang from Venezuela has seized an apartment complex in Aurora, Colorado, leaving residents terrified. Meanwhile, Joe Biden is on his second vacation in two weeks and Kamala Harris is preparing for her first interview in 40 days."

The White House did not respond to Planet Chronicle Digital's request for comment.
