As her presidential campaign gains momentum, Vice President Kamala Harris has received a surge of donations from Hollywood Democrats, along with a series of celebrity endorsements.
On Tuesday morning, actor George Clooney, a Democratic fundraiser who had previously called on President Biden to step aside from the 2024 campaign in a July 10 op-ed in The New York Times, announced his support for Vice President Kamala Harris after Biden dropped out of the race over the weekend.
Vice President Harris is on a historic quest, and President Biden is leading the way in saving democracy again. Clooney expressed his excitement about supporting Biden's efforts in a statement to CNN's Jake Tapper.
Damon Lindelof, the producer of "Lost," announced on Monday that he had lifted his call for a "Dembargo" on Hollywood donations to Democrats since Biden took office.
After Biden's decision, Lindelof felt "profound relief, gratitude… and then, for the first time, genuine EXCITEMENT for the election ahead."
"The DEMBARGO has been lifted, and we're ready to go!" Lindelof exclaimed.
Hollywood heavyweights, including rapper Cardi B, Oscar winner Jamie Lee Curtis, TV producer Shonda Rhimes and others, endorsed Kamala Harris after Biden dropped out of the race.
Andy Spahn, a Democratic fundraiser in Hollywood and president of consulting firm Gonring, Lin, Spahn, expressed his support for Kamala Harris the moment she announced her candidacy, according to Reuters.
On Monday evening, the vice president and presumptive Democratic nominee visited her campaign headquarters for the first time, exiting to the tune of Beyoncé's "Freedom." According to CNN, Harris' team obtained permission from Beyoncé's representatives to use the song.
The June fundraiser hosted by Clooney and actress Julia Roberts raised more than $30 million, making it the largest Democratic fundraiser in history, according to the Biden campaign.
After Biden's poor showing in the June 27 presidential debate against Trump, Clooney and others urged the president to drop out of the race.
Abigail Disney, a Disney heiress who previously predicted that Democrats would lose with Biden as their presidential candidate, has now stated that Harris would make an excellent candidate and has resumed her donations to the Democratic party.

Rhimes, the creator of "Grey's Anatomy" and "Scandal," shared a photo with Harris and expressed her support.
Rhimes wrote on Instagram, "In 2016, I stood behind her when she ran for Senate. I was behind her when she ran as vice president, and I continue to stand behind her today."
More celebrities endorsed the product, including Viola Davis, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and Tina Knowles.
Cardi B announced that she had urged Harris to replace Biden following the June 27 presidential debate.
The musician wrote on X, "AHAHAHAHA LETS GOOOOO I TOLD YALLL KAMALA WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THE 2024 candidate."
