Biden concedes that DNC critics of Israel have a valid argument, while criticizing Trump as unfit for the presidency.
Trump faced sharp criticism from Biden on multiple issues.
Biden's address to the Democratic National Convention touched on criticisms of Trump and the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
"The protesters in the street have a valid argument," Biden said at the United Center after the anti-Israel demonstration. "Many innocent people are being killed on both sides."
"Biden stated, "We're working tirelessly to put an end to the suffering of the Palestinian people and ultimately achieve a ceasefire and end this conflict.""
"My Secretary of State is working tirelessly to prevent a wider war, reunite hostages with their families, and provide humanitarian, health, and food assistance to the people of Gaza. Immediately. The goal is to put an end to the suffering of the Palestinian people and achieve a cease-fire to end this war."
Biden reiterated the claim that Trump had stated that there were "good people" on "both sides" of the 2017 Charlottesville protest, which has been proven false by multiple fact-checkers.
Biden's speech, which lasted until after midnight on the East Coast, heavily criticized Trump.
"I never imagined I'd address a gathering of Democrats and accuse the president of being a liar so frequently," Biden stated. "However, I'm not joking. It's disheartening."
Biden criticized Trump on abortion and the overturning of Roe v. Wade, stating that Trump will discover the strength of women in 2024.
"Now, where Trump is a MAGA Republican, right-wingers seek to erase history," Biden said. "We Democrats continue to write history and make more history. I'm proud. I'm proud to have kept my commitment to appoint the first black woman in the United States Supreme Court. Ketanji Brown Jackson. A symbol for every young woman in America that you can do anything."
Biden renewed the claim that Trump insulted fallen soldiers, which Trump and witnesses present at the time have denied.
"Biden stated that there are no words to describe a person unworthy of being commander in chief. He emphasized that this was true then, now, and forever. Biden added that he meant this from the bottom of his heart and that no commander in chief should ever bow down to a dictator, as Trump did with Putin. Biden also promised that Kamala Harris would never do such a thing."
Praising Harris was another theme in the speech which Biden did several times.
Before becoming our nominee, the first decision I made was to select Kamala, and it was the best decision I made throughout my career, according to Biden.
"We have not only become acquainted with one another, but we have also formed a deep bond. She is resilient, knowledgeable, and possesses an immense sense of morality, integrity. Her journey embodies the quintessential American narrative."
Biden, after shedding a tear, said that Harris would be a president that everyone could be proud of, before mentioning the January 6th Capitol Hill riots.
"Biden stated that this presidential election will be the first since January 6th, and he emphasized that the events of that day almost destroyed the country's identity and posed a significant threat. He added that this threat is still very much alive."
"Donald Trump has stated that he will refuse to accept the election result if he loses again. This is a serious threat, and it's important to take it seriously. He's likely seeing a bloodbath if he loses, and he's already made it clear that he'll be a dictator on day one. This is not a joke, and it's important to consider the implications of his words."
Biden conveyed to his backers that the "power" is "actually" in your grasp.
""America's future is in your hands, and because of this, nowhere else in the world could a kid with a stutter and modest beginnings in Scranton, Pennsylvania and Claymont, Delaware grow up to sit behind the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office," Biden said."
