Biden adviser criticizes top Democrats and media after being exiled.
Recently, Anita Dunn, a trusted advisor to President Biden, announced her support for Vice President Harris by joining her campaign.
Anita Dunn, a former top Biden adviser, criticized both Democratic Party leadership and the mainstream news media in a scathing interview, accusing them of launching "horrible" attacks against President Biden.
Politico interviewed Dunn, who departed the White House to join the Harris campaign, about the aftermath of the disastrous presidential debate this summer, where Biden struggled with several responses and eventually resulted in him being removed from the ticket by Vice President Kamala Harris.
What followed the debate was the critical part, according to Dunn.
In the debate, [former President] Trump failed to make any progress. However, our group managed to gain a few votes. Despite the poor performance, the debate did not feel disastrous, especially in terms of voters.
"Similarly, those who conducted independent research likely observed the same phenomenon. Examining the polls following the debate reveals little change, as the campaign structure had remained static for a prolonged period, and the debate did not alter this."
"Twenty-four days of relentless negative and dreadful attacks on Joe Biden caused the change," she stated.
Dunn stated that the attacks originated from both his own party and the media.
After the debate, the press atmosphere was "unremittingly negative," exacerbated by leaders of the party speaking out.
"The leaders of the party made the decision to go public, which gave others the permission to do the same," she stated.
Was Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., an example of that when she appeared on TV twice following the debate?
"Absolutely," she said.
Biden evaded a question about his anger towards Pelosi, Obama, and Schumer, while also making a dig at some leaders.
"Our objective is to prevent Donald Trump from being elected president again and to gain control of the House of Representatives, which would have been possible if certain leaders had performed better in 2022," she stated.
The Biden family had been experiencing internal tensions, which escalated during the debate. According to NBC News, the tensions boiled over, and Biden family members discussed the possibility of firing Dunn after she suggested that Hunter Biden should keep a low profile.
Dunn stated that President Biden's letter to lawmakers regarding his decision not to exit the race was admirable, but it backfired on some members. When questioned about Hunter's involvement, she declared it to be false.
