President Biden and Vice President Harris are collaborating on a cease-fire agreement between Israel and Hamas, as stated by Vice President Harris.
For four days, anti-Israel protesters have demonstrated outside the Democratic National Convention (DNC). Finally, Vice President Kamala Harris spoke about the Israel-Palestinian conflict in her speech on the convention's final night.
"President Biden and I are working tirelessly to secure a hostage deal and a cease-fire agreement in Gaza, as now is the time to act. I want to make it clear that I will always support Israel's right to defend itself and ensure it has the capability to do so, as the people of Israel have endured unimaginable terror at the hands of Hamas on October 7th."
Harris stated that the war casualties of innocent Palestinian people in Gaza over the past 10 months are devastating.
""The repeated loss of innocent lives and the immense suffering it brings is truly heartbreaking," Harris stated."
Harris stated that she and President Biden are working to resolve the conflict while ensuring Israel's security and allowing the "Palestinian people to achieve their right to dignity, security, freedom, and self-determination."
In July, Harris met with Netanyahu to reiterate the administration's support for Israel and express her concern about the humanitarian situation, while also discussing a cease-fire deal.
On Monday, Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated that the proposal presented by the Biden administration in collaboration with Qatar and Egypt aimed to "bridge the gaps" between the warring parties and has been "approved" by Netanyahu.
"Blinken stated that Hamas must also support it."
Blinken did not reveal the details of the proposal, and Netanyahu has not yet agreed to any cease-fire.
This week, anti-Israel demonstrators have expressed their dissatisfaction with Harris' campaign during the DNC. On Thursday, protesters referred to the Democratic nominee as "Killer Kamala," and some spoke with Planet Chronicle Digital about their stance on the presidential candidates.
