Alaska's At-Large district sees three candidates progress in ranked choice primary.
Alaska's primary election is on Tuesday, although the most significant contests are postponed until November.
On Tuesday, the Associated Press reported that three candidates had advanced to Alaska's general election to represent the state's At-Large Congressional District.
The four candidates with the most votes in Alaska's non-partisan, ranked-choice primary system advance to the general election, regardless of party affiliation.
The primary election on Tuesday had 12 candidates competing for a spot in the top four, including incumbent Rep. Mary Peltola, D-Ala., who secured a place in the general election with 50.7% of the vote.
In the 2022 election, Republican Nick Begich came in 2nd place with 26.8% of the vote, challenging Democrat Mary Peltola for the seat.
In the Last Frontier primary, Republican Lt. Gov. Nancy Dahlstrom, who received the endorsement of former President Trump, finished third with 19.9% of the votes.
The Associated Press did not declare the 4th place finisher. None of the remaining candidates surpassed the 1% threshold.
The race was contested by David Ambrose, Samuel Claesson, Lady Donna Dutchess, Richard Grayson, Eric Hafner, Gerald Heikes, John Wayne Howe, Richard Mayers, and Matthew Salisbury for the seat.
