A survey by AARP revealed that Nevada seniors aged 50 and above are supporting former President Trump with a significant margin.

A new poll shows that the former President Trump continues to hold a lead in a crucial swing state for the 2024 presidential election.

A recent survey by AARP shows Trump leading Biden by 3 percentage points in Nevada. Among likely voters in the Silver State, 48% prefer Trump while 45% support Biden.

If independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. qualifies for the Nevada ballot, the lead extends to a more comfortable 7 points. However, Kennedy has not yet qualified and state Democrats have filed a lawsuit challenging his eligibility.

Trump's lead among voters over 50 is more pronounced, with 53% preferring him to Biden, a Democrat, by double digits. However, Biden maintains a lead among Hispanic voters in that age demographic, with 51% supporting him compared to Trump's 41%, according to the AARP poll.

According to Maria Moore, AARP Nevada state director, the Hispanic population in Nevada is significant, making their vote crucial. A 2022 Pew Research Center analysis shows that Hispanics make up 22% of the eligible voter population in the state, as stated in the AARP's news release.

Nevada is a closely watched state that could determine the next president, as it has not voted for a Republican candidate since 2004. However, Biden won the state by a narrow margin in 2020, with 50.06% of the vote to Trump's 47.67% vote share.

Earlier this month, a Planet Chronicle poll showed Trump leading Biden by 5 points.

The GOP is hopeful that they will win the state after the recent election, where Republican Gov. Joe Lombardo defeated Democratic incumbent Gov. Steve Sisolak.

In a New York Times guest essay, Lombardo recently contended that Nevada voters are displeased with Biden's management of the economy.

According to recent polling on Democratic candidates in Nevada, Mr. Biden faces a significant challenge in regaining the confidence of Nevadans, who feel that after three and a half years, he has not made any meaningful progress on issues such as inflation and housing.

According to an AARP survey, only 40% of voters aged 50 and above mostly approve of Biden's job performance, while 59% disapprove. On the other hand, reflecting on Trump's first term in office, 56% of voters over 50 approve of what he did as president, while 43% disapprove.

The survey examined Nevada's U.S. Senate race, where Sen. Jacky Rosen, D-Nev., is running for re-election against Republican contender Sam Brown, a war veteran. The poll revealed that Rosen is leading Brown among all age groups, with 47% support compared to Brown's 42%, largely due to Hispanic voters' backing of Rosen.

Bob Ward, pollster, stated that it is the difference in votes among Hispanic and Latino voters that is giving Rosen the advantage.

According to an AARP survey, the top concerns for Nevada voters were the economy, increasing food prices, immigration, and border security.

Jeff Liszt, a pollster for Impact Research, predicted that split-ticket voters will determine the outcome of the upcoming election.

"According to Liszt, when examining older voters, 43% vote straight-ticket Republican and 35% vote straight-ticket Democrat, but 23% split their tickets. This suggests that there are more undecided voters now compared to recent elections."

A poll conducted by Republican pollster Fabrizio Ward in partnership with Democratic firm Impact Research included 1,368 likely voters interviewed between June 12 and 18, with a margin of error of 4%.
