A Haitian migrant who is accused of molesting a child is currently in the US due to the controversial Biden-Harris program.
The CHNB parole program, which is controversial under the Biden-Harris administration, welcomed Akim Marc Desire into the US.
A Haitian migrant who entered the US last year was arrested in Massachusetts for allegedly molesting a 10-year-old boy living next door to him.
Last week in Mansfield, Massachusetts, about 45 minutes south of Boston, an 18-year-old named Akim Marc Desire was arrested by police and is being charged with indecent assault and battery on a child under age 14, according to law enforcement sources.
Currently in ICE custody, Desire arrived in the U.S. in June of the previous year, first touching down in Miami before traveling north to the Boston region.
"Boston ICE Field Office Director Todd M. Lyons stated that Akim Marc Desire allegedly harmed a minor member of the Massachusetts community. He emphasized that such a threat to the safety of children is unacceptable. ERO Boston will continue to prioritize public safety by arresting and removing egregious noncitizen offenders from New England neighborhoods."
ICE stated that the individual entered the country legally but violated the conditions of entry and was therefore unlawfully present in the U.S. at the time of the alleged crime.
In recent months, two Haitian migrants have been charged with sex crimes against children in Massachusetts, with the latest case involving a man who was accused of raping a 15-year-old girl in a migrant hotel just a month after 26-year-old Cory Alvarez was charged with a similar crime.
The CHNB parole program, which enables migrants to enter the U.S. with a sponsor from four countries - Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela - was the reason why Desire flew to the U.S. under the Biden administration's controversial program.
In July, the program was halted due to a DHS review revealing over 100,000 fraudulent applications submitted by approximately 3,000 "repeating sponsors."
The DHS announced last week that it is restarting its parole program after implementing stricter vetting procedures for U.S.-based supporters to enhance the program's integrity.
DHS is resuming the issuance of new Advance Travel Authorizations and will closely monitor the new process, a spokesperson for the agency told Planet Chronicle Digital.
The White House declined to comment on a Planet Chronicle Digital request.
