A former federal prosecutor who prosecuted rioters following the death of George Floyd criticizes Minnesota Governor Walz for failing to prevent the city from burning.
Angie Craig is being challenged for her seat in Congress by Joe Teirab.
A former federal prosecutor in Minneapolis who prosecuted George Floyd rioters stated that Gov. Tim Walz's record on issues such as riots and fraud makes him "unfit" for a promotion to vice president of the United States.
Joe Teirab, the GOP nominee in Minnesota's 2nd Congressional District and a former Assistant U.S. Attorney, stated on Planet Chronicle Digital that Kamala Harris is attempting to transform Minnesota and the country into San Francisco and California, which is not desirable, and she has doubled down on her radical leftist agenda, making the most extreme presidential ticket in American history.
Teirab, a Marine veteran with an immigrant father from Sudan, told Planet Chronicle Digital that Walz's handling of the 2020 riots, which caused significant damage and cost hundreds of millions of dollars, demonstrates his unsuitability for the role of vice president.
"As a federal prosecutor for four years, I tried to put criminals behind bars across Minnesota. However, during the George Floyd riots, Tim Walz failed to take action, allowing our city to burn for multiple days. At the same time, Kamala Harris encouraged people to donate to the Minnesota Freedom Fund, which bailed out criminals who later committed murder. My job during that time was to put these arsonists behind bars."
Teirab stated, "I prosecuted two individuals who hurled Molotov cocktails in a courthouse in my district. I also charged two people who attempted to burn down a small business. It is incomprehensible to me how this occurred, and we cannot allow it to happen to our country if Tim Walz and Kamala Harris are in charge."
The 2020 riots impacted "everyone in Minnesota," as Teirab explained.
""Where are our leaders? Our government officials? Tim Walz? We've been watching the news every day and no one seems to be addressing the rioting." - Teirab"
Teirab stated that Walz is not a "moderate" and expressed concern about his inability to address fraud in Minnesota to Planet Chronicle Digital.
Teirab said, "I believe he's more like a caricature of what people on the coast think of as a gruffy middle-of-the-road guy, but that couldn't be further from the truth."
"Because of his record in Minnesota, Tim Walz was a terrible manager of our government resources, and as a federal prosecutor, I had the honor of working on the Feeding Our Future case, where these fraudsters stole over $250 million of hard-earned taxpayer money. Walz was asleep at the switch, and this was unacceptable, making him unfit to be the vice president."
The $250 million COVID-19 fraud scandal in Minnesota is being scrutinized again, with critics blaming Governor Walz for the situation.
Since 2022 to 2024, 70 individuals have been indicted for the fraud scheme that led to a $250 million loss from the Minnesota Department of Education's Feeding Our Future program, a federally funded meal assistance program aimed at providing free meals to eligible children and adults.
The Harris-Walz campaign did not respond to Planet Chronicle Digital's request for comment.
In November, Teirab will face off against Democratic Rep. Angie Craig, whom Teirab accused of being a "rubber stamp" for the Biden administration, in the MN-02 district. Teirab explained the issues that are most important to voters in his district.
"The economy and prices are undoubtedly the major concerns," Teirab stated. "Indeed, everyone must visit the grocery store, pay for groceries, pay energy bills, and go to the gas pump, which are the primary issues. Unfortunately, at present, we have terrible Bidenomics, and Angie Craig, my opponent, has consistently supported Bidenomics."
A Craig campaign spokesperson stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that Angie Craig voted against the Biden Administration 30% of the time last year and is among the top 3% most bipartisan Members of Congress. Her record is clear.
