'Sunny Hostin of 'The View' referred to President Trump as a 'diversity, equity, and inclusion' hire.'
Trump received everything he has, according to Sunny Hostin.
On Monday, "The View" co-host Sunny Hostin referred to President Donald Trump as a "DEI hire" while commenting on his inauguration and criticizing the "hypocrisy" of his pledge to eliminate Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) policies.
"Hostin remarked that it was ironic that a man was inaugurated as president on the same day we honored MLK, who advocated for both racial and economic equality, which is often overlooked."
She reminded people that he had stated that Black Americans were entitled to reparations for the injustices they faced. He believed that reparations were a form of justice, not charity, and he said, "It's all right to tell a man to lift himself by his own bootstraps, but to say to a bootless man he ought to lift himself by his own bootstraps," she added.
"Hostin argued that Trump's lack of political experience and his reliance on inherited wealth made him a "legacy hire" and a "DEI hire," meaning he didn't earn his position through merit."
Hostin and Navarro admitted they did not watch the inauguration on Monday, citing it being Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Hostin revealed at the beginning of her comments that she went to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch college football with friends instead of the inauguration.
In the future, Navarro urged Democrats to demonstrate against Trump whenever possible.
Alyssa Farah Griffin, co-host, stated that she watched and covered the inauguration and believes that the phrase "normalizing Donald Trump" should be retired as Trump was already normalized through his re-election.
Griffin stated that whether people like it or not, Donald Trump has become normalized as he received 75 million votes and is now an integral part of American history like George Bush and Barack Obama.
She continued, "I was shocked by the imagery of his return as a conquering king, with the biggest titans of industry, fashion designers, Democrats, and every former president present. This moment highlights the reasons why he won and the reasons behind his return."
Last week, Joy Behar accused Carrie Underwood of supporting Trump by agreeing to perform at his inauguration.
