Snoop Dogg and Nelly face criticism from 'The View' hosts for performing at Trump inauguration.
Ana Navarro stated that Donald Trump has remained the same, while you, the listener, have undergone a transformation.
On Tuesday, "The View" hosts Ana Navarro and Sunny Hostin criticized Black performing artists Nelly and Snoop Dogg for performing at President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration celebration.
On the days leading up to Trump's inauguration on Monday, his supporters held various events in the nation's capital. One such event was the Crypto Ball, hosted by incoming White House AI and "Crypto Czar" David Sacks, which included a performance by Snoop Dogg.
"According to Navarro, the reason Snoop Dogg was spotlighted is because of the things he said 10 days before the 2017 Trump inaugural. If you opposed Trump in 2017 but are now applauding him, you have changed, not Trump."
In January 2017, the rapper posted a video threatening to "roast the f—k" out of any "Uncle Tom a— n---a" who performed for Trump's inauguration. He also made a video mock-assassinating Trump and suggested that calls to make America "great again" refer to a time period of segregation.
In the segment, Hostin played a clip of former Clinton White House aide Keith Boykin, who criticized artists who performed during Trump's inauguration. Boykin argued that Trump had "attacked Black people" during his presidency and suggested that artists like Nelly and Snoop Dogg "dishonor those people" by performing for Trump.
Boykin's comments were "really important," according to Hostin, who emphasized the need for Americans to remember Trump's true character.
"This is who Donald Trump is," she said.
Alyssa Farah Griffin opposed the targeting of artists for performing at a political event.
""I don't come for the artists. I think if you feel like people need to be boycotting Donald Trump, which I disagree with, I'd go to the politicians," she said."
