Jason Aldean discusses his thoughts on the inauguration and observes a change in celebrities' views on Trump.
After performing at the Liberty Ball in Washington, DC, the country star expressed feeling a little vindicated.
Jason Aldean, a renowned country musician, is not afraid to confront contentious issues, especially when it comes to his backing of President Donald Trump, which frequently places him at odds with many figures in the entertainment industry.
During Trump's Inaugural Liberty Ball on Monday, Aldean, who has been criticized for his outspoken views, stated that he experienced a change.
"Aldean expressed satisfaction during a "Fox & Friends" interview on Tuesday, stating, "I must admit, I feel a bit vindicated. Over the past six years, I've been subjected to intense criticism for speaking out about my views on the country and the previous administration. However, this week, it's heartening to see so many celebrities and individuals who have now shown their support, even though they were hesitant to do so earlier.""
Trump's growing influence in the entertainment industry is something that Aldean, who announced his Full Throttle North American tour, believes is becoming more accepted.
The 2021 presidential inauguration secured high-profile performers such as Aldean, Nelly, Snoop Dogg, Kid Rock, and Carrie Underwood.
"The atmosphere of the event feels electric," Aldean stated, "with everyone eagerly anticipating the new chapter ahead."
At the Liberty Ball, Aldean sang for an hour, including his popular hit "Try That in a Small Town." Despite controversy over the song's music video, Aldean defended it.
In the past 24 hours, I’ve been falsely accused of releasing a pro-lynching song. These baseless accusations are not only harmful but also dangerous, Aldean wrote to his nearly 8 million social media followers.
Trump's return to office presents a pivotal moment for Aldean, offering an opportunity to restore what he perceives as a damaged political environment.
""Although the media has portrayed the last few years as great, many of us knew it wasn't and now others are starting to realize it too," he stated."
Trump, prior to his political career, was a well-known figure in Hollywood, hosting "The Apprentice," appearing in films and TV shows, and maintaining a prominent public image. However, his entry into politics caused discord among the entertainment industry, with many celebrities openly opposing him.
Yet, as Aldean points out, that divide may be slowly fading.
"I believe it implies that, ideally, it will restore order and ensure everyone is aligned."
The inauguration held significance for Aldean as it represented a cultural reorientation.
"The return of President Trump to office would provide relief and a sense of direction for many people."
