Will Eminem's endorsement of Kamala Harris influence Detroit voters?
One resident told Planet Chronicle Digital that they believe celebrities are admired by people.
On Tuesday, Vice President Kamala Harris held a rally in Detroit, Michigan, and was joined by rapper Eminem. Planet Chronicle Digital surveyed Michigan voters to determine if Eminem's endorsement would influence their decision.
According to Arthur, a lifelong resident of Detroit, Eminem is a great representation of the city.
A Harris supporter reported that Trick Trick, a former song collaborator of Eminem, supported former President Trump at a recent rally in Detroit.
"Trick Trick is a local legend and hero in the city," he said. "Any endorsement from them would be beneficial. I hope Kamala accepts all endorsements from celebrities."
At Huntington Place in downtown Detroit, voters waited in line for the event to hear speeches from Eminem and former President Obama. While waiting, several told Planet Chronicle Digital that they believe celebrity endorsements carry weight.
"Diane, a Chesterfield Township resident, believes that people admire celebrities and have an opinion about their whereabouts. In her opinion, celebrities are generally more educated than the average person."
Younger voters respond more positively to celebrity endorsements, according to Desmond, a Southfield resident.
He stated that they undoubtedly motivate and energize individuals to participate in voting and express their opinions.
Bill Potter, a Bloomfield Hills resident, believes that Detroit residents would be interested in Eminem's endorsement of Harris.
"I believe it can influence some weight if certain individuals feel a genuine connection to certain celebrities," Potter stated.
Johnson, a Detroit native, said it "definitely matters."
He stated that since everyone listens to music, entertainers, and everything for advice, it would be a good cause for A-listers to get involved in the election.
In Mt. Pleasant, Camille, a Detroit native, thinks Eminem's endorsement of Harris could influence Detroit voters, but the impact of other celebrities' endorsements depends on their popularity.
"Gregory, a Detroit native waiting in line, believes that Eminem's endorsement would move some people due to the weight given to famous individuals' words."
Sonya from Madison Heights stated that Trump lacks the number of A-list celebrities compared to Harris because "he's out of touch with the times."
While Taylor Swift and Oprah have endorsed Harris, Trump has gained support from Eddie Griffin and Antonio Brown, both famous Black men.
