Whoopi Goldberg jokes about Trump murder plot by Musk and Vance: 'Stay away from the elevators'
Elon Musk reportedly believes he is the president of the United States, according to a claim made by a co-host on 'The View'.
During a discussion about Elon Musk's political influence, Whoopi Goldberg made a crude joke about the hypothetical murder of President-elect Donald Trump.
Elon Musk believes he's president, according to Goldberg on "The View" on Thursday.
During a discussion about a bipartisan agreement to prevent a partial government shutdown, her remarks emerged amid opposition from the GOP, which ultimately led to the deal's failure. Musk, a Trump adviser and supporter, was among the most vocal opponents of the spending bill.
In the segment, Joy Behar proposed that JD Vance and Musk were conspiring to seize the presidency from Trump.
Goldberg joked about staying away from stairways while referring to Trump as "you know who" to diminish him, prompting the crowd to laugh and applaud.
"People often trip when going down stairs because they put their legs out, so be cautious," she warned.
On the same day that the Wall Street Journal published a bombshell article about President Biden's "declined" leadership and how his White House shielded him during his term, CNN commentator Scott Jennings pointed out that Goldberg's question about who "is in charge" was particularly relevant.
Goldberg's joke also follows two assassination attempts against Trump earlier this year.
On Sept. 15, Ryan Routh was accused of waiting for over 12 hours in the brush with a rifle near the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach while Trump was golfing. A Secret Service agent spotted Routh pointing a rifle through a fence and fired at him. Routh escaped and was arrested that day.
A presidential candidate and federal officer were assaulted by Routh, who has pleaded not guilty to five counts.
On July 13, at a rally in Butler, Pa., Thomas Crooks tried to assassinate Trump, injuring him and killing supporter Corey Comperatore. He also severely harmed two other individuals in the crowd. However, law enforcement officers fatally shot Crooks on the spot.
The congressional committee probing the July and September assassination attempts persists in seeking clarification.
