Whoopi Goldberg defends Biden's decision to pardon Hunter Biden: "It is his right"
During 'The View' on Monday, Whoopi Goldberg stated that President Biden has the freedom to take any action he desires.
On Tuesday, Whoopi Goldberg, a co-host of "The View," defended President Biden's decision to pardon his son, Hunter Biden, and criticized Democrats for criticizing the move.
Goldberg started by stating that he believes what is hurtful for the American people is denying that if something is good for the goose, it is also good for the gander. He then pointed out that the President of the United States has the right to pardon anyone he chooses, including Bozo the Clown, and that people should not be clutching their pearls over it.
Some Democrats, including Colorado Sen. Michael Bennet, Rep. Greg Landsman, D-Ohio, and Rep. Greg Stanton, D-Ariz., have criticized Biden's decision to pardon Hunter, stating that he prioritized his personal interests over his responsibilities.
"You can't have it both ways, Democrats. You can't have it both ways. You can't let people tell you're not taking the moral ground when we take the moral ground all the time. We fight for migrant rights, women's rights, gay folks' rights, trans rights, and every time we do, suddenly we're being told, oh, you're on the woke agenda," Goldberg continued.
"As Goldberg stated, "We are this party, and we fight for these things, and you can see what's going on and understand why he's made this decision, or you won't. However, it's crucial to remember that we don't attack other Democrats. This is a significant issue, and I believe it's essential to address it as a Democrat.""
Sunny Hostin concurred with Goldberg and expressed discomfort with the "internal firing squad."
President-elect Trump lies, as fact-checks from various sources have shown, so there is no reason to be upset about President Biden's pardon lie, argued Hostin.
Let's discuss lying instead of pearl clutching about Joe Biden's lies, Hostin suggested.
"While I respect President Biden, I believe he made a mistake on this issue. The prosecution was not politically motivated, and Hunter was found guilty of committing felonies by a jury of his peers."
Jared Polis, the Democratic governor of Colorado, also criticized the decision.
Polis expressed disappointment in Biden's decision to pardon his son, stating that it sets a bad precedent and could be abused by future Presidents. He believes that Biden's actions will negatively impact his reputation.
On Monday, Goldberg strongly supported the president and stated that Biden has the freedom to take any action he desires.
